You have to check out, which brand remote control have any among these setup codes to Magnavox, and buy that remote control. The correct code (or whether there is a code at all) depends on which version of the Sky remote you are using. The version number of the remote can be found on a sticker inside the battery compartment. If you have "RC1600/00" "Rev 4" or "Rev 6" on the sticker, then it's unlikely that it will work with your TV, but please read on as this isn't always true.

If you have a "Rev 8" remote then it's more likely to work with your TV, however, according to Sky, you will need to buy the new "Rev 9" Sky remote:

If buying one, be sure to check the button for the "Rev 9" version ( £0.85).

The actual code for your TV model is: 0718

I suggest you try the above code regardless of which version of Sky remote you have as Sky's information is not always accurate. You can also try these generic codes for Philips TVs:

0584, 0266, 0065, 0749, 1679, 0199, 0679

Again, try these with whichever version of the Sky remote you are using. There is a good chance that one of them will operate the volume and power functions on your TV. If none of the above codes work, then you will probably need to buy a Rev 9 remote.

The correct code - or whether there is any code - depends which version of Sky remote you have. This can be found on a sticker inside the battery compartment. The Sky info for your TV is somewhat confusing. Sky have an exact match for your TV model number but if you have the RC1600/00 remote, Rev 4 or Rev remote, they do not list any codes. If you have the Rev 8 remote, they list the following codes: 0206 1293 1280

However, despite listing codes for the Rev 8 they also state that "these codes are not available for your version of the Sky remote" - confused? I am.

So, I suggest you try the above codes regardless of which Sky remote version you have and if they do not work, also try the generic codes for LG TVs for each version of the Sky remote:

Rev 4: 0065 0742 0502 0672 0634 0136
Rev 6: Same as Rev 4
Rev 8: 1293 1177 1206 0206 0065

Basically, I suggest you try all of the codes above regardless of which version of Sky remote you have, including RC1600/00. There's a good chance one of them will control the volume and standby functions.

It would help to know the model number of your LG TV. However, you can try the generic codes for LG which I've listed here:

Rev 8 remote: 1293, 1206, 0206, 0065, 0904
Rev 6 remote: 0065, 0742, 0502, 0672, 0634, 0136,
Rev 4 remote: Same as Rev 6
RC1600/00 remote: codes not available and unlikely to work with your TV

Try these codes but if they don't work, please post back with your TV model number. It's possible that your remote does not have a code which will work with your TV, in which case, you will need to use the remote supplied with your TV to control volume and power functions. Unfortunately, when a TV is newer than the remote and uses a new flash pattern not programmed into that remote, the remote wont work. However manufacturers often keep the same flash patterns for common functions, so the generic codes might work for you.

I'm informed that a new Sky remote version is due but I've not been able to confirm this yet.

Hi,

The model number should be on a white sticker on the back of the TV. If you can find it, please post back and I will obtain the correct code for your Sky remote.

There are some Generic codes for Toshiba TVs which are:

0536 1536 and 1221 for Rev 8 remotes
0063 0536 and 1121 for Rev 6 remotes
0063 0121 and 0536 for Rev 4 remotes

You can find the Rev number of your Sky remote on a sticker inside the battery compartment. If it just says RC1600/00 then you have the original Sky remote, but you can still try the above codes.

If you need instructions on programming the remote, please post back with both your model number and Sky remote Rev number and I will post the codes and instructions.

This really depends on which brand/model of TV you have and which Sky remote version. The code you need is specific to the brand/model of TV.

The Sky remote version is printed on a sticker inside the battery compartment. The older Sky remotes will have "RC1600/00" on the sticker. Newer versions will also have either "Rev 4", "Rev 6", or "Rev 8" on the sticker.

If you have a new TV and an older Sky remote (i.e. before Rev 8) your remote may not work with your TV and you will need to buy a new Sky remote if you want to operate TV and Sky box with one remote.

Please post back with your Sky remote version number and your TV brand and EXACT model number. I will then be able to provide codes for your remote and programming instructions.

if you look inside the battery compartment there should be a revision number for the remote.

for a LE40b652 use -

Rev 4 or 6 Remote - 0646 or 0502 or 0615

Rev 8 Remote - 0646 or 0840 or 1340

Sky HD Code is 1340 to enter it: -

Press TV

Hold down Select and Red Button at same time until Red LED flashes twice

Press 1340

Press Select and the Red LED will flash twice to confirm that it has been set up.

Now press the Power Button to confirm that it operates properly.

1. Press tv on your Sky remote control.

2. Press and hold down select and the red button together until the red light at the top of your Sky remote control flashes twice.

3. Press tv again

Then enter the remote control code using the number keypad. The red light will flash twice if a valid code has been entered.

Samsung Code: 0060

4. Point your Sky remote control at your TV and press the Power button. If this turns the off as you'd expect, then the tv should be set, press Select and the remote should work

5. If the TV does not turn off press tv, then press the Power button again, repeat this process until the TV turns off, when the TV turns off press Select.
