The GL2 works with SD cards. Your 16GB card is an SDHC card. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work in devices not designed for them. You need to use an SD card, 2GB or smaller.
The Program for Sea Charts you are looking for is called, Bluenav xl3. Here is the information about these charts:
Note: You cannot combine MapSend BlueNav charts with any
other MapSend applications on the same card and you will need a Secure
Digital card reader/writer and you will need to be familiar with saving
and renaming files on the reader.
You need to test the SD card to make sure it's reading OK. Next step if it is OK, reformat the card and copy the files from the original cd that came with the unit, on to the SD card and that should fix the problem. If the SD card is defective, just get a new 1 or 2 gig SD card and copy the files on that card. It's ALWAYS helpful to have an extra SD card as a backup. If you don't have the original cd, I have the original as well as the new N30 version software for the Nav-Cam 2007. Joe
It may be the SD memory card causing the problem. I just bought a G7. When I turned it on without an SD card, no problem. I put it my old cheap SD card and it wont turn on. I take out the memory card and battery, then insert the Canon SD card and battery and turn it on, no problem.
Hope this helps someone.
