Camera won't power up

I have a 2 yr old Canon PowerShot SD600 Digital Elph camera that when I press the power button nothing happens. I bought a new battery, charged it without success. This camera was never exposed to water, dropped or damaged in any way. Any suggestions?Thanks for any help you can provide

    I was using my camera and it was taking pictures it turned off suddenly leaving the lens still out but won't turn on. I just charged the battery and I know it is still good.

Mine was the microswitch that tells the camera the battery / card door is closed. The tiny, cheap plastic protrusion that pushes on the switch broke off. Jam the switch with the end of a toothpick.

You might try cleaning the battery compartment of the camera to make sure that the contacts are not corroded.

Canon PowerShot SD 630 Digital Elph "Memory Card Error"
Hi,
I'm sorry to tell that PowerShot SD 630 does not support SDHC cards over 2 gig.
If you want the camera to take a card over 2 gig then you are stuck standard SD cards.
The other camera does support the card because it's a higher model.

Canon S230 Digital Elph has a distorted image in an awful pick.
See this link. If Canon determines that your problem is due to a faulty CCD (and the symptoms indicate that it is), they will repaire your camera at no cost, regardless of warranty status.

smtimes new battery also may have problem of low power....
u should try it another camera and see it works or not....
if again same problem comes then definately get damaged....
if it runs good in nother camera then i think there is still havin sm problem in urs camera....
show it to ur dealer for more infomation....
