Your assistance in solving this problem

I have a haier 13" model no: htn13r12 tv set which seems to me have a frequency probblem as both sound and picture fades out and in within 60 seconds going from a perfect picture and sound to a poor one there is no open circuit and the tuner is ok as i have tried a good one in there and the same problem exist i appreciate your assistace

Haier TV has picture and changes channels fine, but the sound has gone. It is NOT that the Mute is on. The TV downstairs is fine so it is NOT the cable company.

You can try unplugging the TV for a bit to see if that resets it. Next check if the TV was set to use external speakers by accident. Finally, try a factory reset. Please add a comment with the model of the Haier TV for directions for checking the audio output menu and factory reset.

(I had a different TV from a different brand that had no external audio port. It would sometimes lose audio on one channel or several channels. Unplugging the TV solved the problem; the factory reset option in the TV menu didn't resolve the issue.)

No UHF channels

Sorry, looking up the Phillips PTV100, it does not support over the air broadcasting. Supports, cable and satellite reception.

The reason you are picking up The VHF channels (2-13) is they match cable channel frequencies up to this point. The UHF frequencies are not the same as the cable frequencies, even though the channel numbers seem the same.

Some other models or brands of TIVO may have this ability.

No sound coming through tv speakers

Hi.

Some Large flat panel tv sets have seperate speakers that clip on to the side of tv set if you got the manual with the tv does it say about seperate speakers.
Or if it does have speakers with the tv set check that the audio frequency is set to your countries transmission frequency.
Example UK is PAL (I) If your not in uk try and find out what yours is.

13 inch Haier TV

Plug it into a power strip and turn off the power strip as well as the TV. I've been told that newer TVs are always "on" - standby mode- and someone probably has a device somewhere in the near vicinity that is turning it on. (Or your cat is watching it when you're not home.) Or you could just unplug it when you leave.

top 50% of my LG 50PZ55T - ZA plasma TV screen looks like it has a black filter, jet black at the centre fading towards the top of the screen and is scattered with coloured snow like pixels. Originally I belived the problem to be related to ground connectors of one of the HDMI sockets no longer attached to the board I resoldered those and everthing seemed fine for a week untill I used the tv for around 8 hours straight hurned it off returned 3 hours later to use again and the problem returned, any thoughts on what parts I should look at to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated, regards Justin Carr.
