I have 3 JL Audio 12

How can I adjust the Bass Boost,Frequency(Hz),Sensitivity to make it sound nice n clear...When I put music to a certain volume,the bass sounds to hard n it rattles to much,I will like for it to sound more clear n less rattle..

What is the purpose of a graphic equalizer?

A graphic equalizer is designed to allow the user to tailor the music to his or her personal hearing. Obviously not everyone hears frequencies the same. As you get older or are exposed to loud noises you lose sensitivity to certain frequencies. To compensate for that you can boost or cut the fequencies being played through your system. Originally the graphic equalizer was designed to make corrections to bad recordings and deficiencies in the recording medium of the time. Now they are used more to compensate for hearing deficiencies. To understand how an equalizer works you need to understand that ideally the normal person can hear about 20 khz of audio when they are young and have perfect hearing. Probably more realistically they can hear 20 hz to 15 khz. Enter the equalizer. All sounds are heard differently according to the intensity of the frequency. If your hearing is bad, say down 10db at 10khz, with an equalizer you could boost 10khz by 10db and make up for it. An equalizer contains filters which breaks the audio spectrum into bands. Could be 3, 6, 10, 15, 20 or more. The more bands the more the equalizer costs but the more corrective power you have. We have equalizers with 64 bands. . The numbers on the sliders are the frequencies your equalizer can boost or cut. Keep in mind that they are the center frequency and will effect frequencies on either side for about a 10db range. So you can cut/boost frequencies at 50hz (very low), 200hz (low but still bass), 800hz (low to mid range), 3.2khz (range of speech), and 12.8khz (high frequency). The best way to observe how your equalizer works would be to play something and adjust one control at a time to see what it does. You will notice a difference. Then it basically becomes a project to adjust the unit to the way that you like to hear your music. You like bass, boost the low frequencies. Like the highs, boost them. Give it a try.

    Audio settings for pioneer DEH-P3100UB

    The q1w and all that- is a way to fine tune your eq settings: the q means "frequency" the w means wide and the n means narrow. if you choose to boost your lows at 125 hz which is a low midbass the q selection you choose will focus more on the frequencies very close(narow) to that frequency. if you choose a w setting it will spread the boost to frequencies further away(wider) from the center frequency(125hz) Dink around with it and you will notice the way it contours the sound a little. The different numbers associated with the lows mids or highs are the frequencies that you want to boost when you're adjusting your sound-example if you turn up the bass and it starts distorting your speakers = go into settings 2 and change the "lows" Q to a higher frequency(change 80 hz to 125hz) and that way it wont muddy up your sound quite as bad if at all

    JL 13w7 & 1000/1 Settings

    There is no "perfect" setting that can be placed in a manual. It's all done by ear. Your settings will vary depending on the vehicle you are in, the type of enclosure you have, the type of music you listen too, how much voltage your deck put's out. There are many variables, but I can try to give you a basic guide.

    First of all you need to know your enclosure. If you have a ported enclosure tuned in the mid to low 30's you may want to set the low pass to around 70-80 hz with your sub sonic set at 30 hz. this will give you the higher bass frequency you need for the loud bass you want, and protect the sub from going too far below the tuned frequency of the enclosure, and losing it's composure.

    As far as the gain, and bass boost are concerned, you just have to adjust them by ear. First adjust the radio volume to normal listening levels, by that I mean as loud as it can go without the speakers in the car sounding like ****. Now you adjust the gain first. slow turn the gain control, carefuly watching and listening to the sub.. Adjust the gain to the point of the woofer getting a lil sloppy then back it down a bit until the sound is clean again. Now do the same with the bass boost. if there is a bass boost frequency adjustment, set that as close to the tuned frequency of the box as you can.

    If you are in a sealed box the adjustments are a bit easier, and are all about taste. Adjust the radio as described before, and put on your favorite song. Next start udjust thing lowpass frequency to taste, not too high tho, try not us higher than 100 hz in your sub's for better sound. Sub sonic is not quite as important in a sealed box, as there is much less danger of the sub losing control.

    Do you have the crossover switched to "low pass"? and the frequency control below 80hz? Do you have the manual? If you need more help, post a comment and I can walk you thru it. Hope this helps

    Adjusting wattage on kenwood kac 9103 class D mono amp

    That amplifier is 900W x 1 @ 2ohms.
    If your subs are 4ohm SVC wired Parallel, resulting in a 2 ohm load, each sub will only see 1/2 of the rated power. (450W ea.)
    Your gain (sensitivity) setting should be between 75% and 85% to max. You will be fine.
