Check for a loose power cord on the back of the monitor (quite common).

I used to have the same problem until I discovered that the cables in the back of the monitor weren't securely connected. I have a very similar model monitor to the one being displayed here

Problem solved with changing button in my case "OK". Check all control buttons.

My Monitor Sony SDM HS93, does not work at all. It was not use for a couple of years, I ewanted to connect to on PC, but there is no sign at all. No light in the power indicator.

sony sdm e96d screen does not come on. the light goes from green to yellow and doesnt switch on.

I suddenly get an Information Box stating Model SDM-HS95 and a serial number on the monitor. Does this mean I need a new monitor?

You are precisely right. This happens in Sony models. Have expirienced a lot of this problems relating this issue and all of them have been on Sony and Viewsonic LCD 19" and 22".

Power of the Monitor keeps going out.

You need to look inside your pc and check and see if the video card is plugged in tight. Sometimes if it is loose, and it isnt connected, and causes the monitor to not show any picture, but still has power.
