Question about Altusen Aten CS62U-2 Port USB KVM Switch
Have purchased two of these first one would only switch beteen computers in one mode using the A key, then the video failed on it, second unit will only switch to first computer to be turned on then will not switch at all, using pc on XP and Mac on OSX.Are there reliability problems with this unit.
Are you sure, the usb cable belonging to the keyboard is plugged in the appropriate slot?
I have a wireless keyboard/mouse, so I have only 1 usb cable going into the switch. The first time, is plugged it into the slot of the mouse, and the switch did not work, so I plugged the cable in the other slot, and now everything works properly.

I've been trying to switch between two PCs and it would only let me use the keyboard, mouse and monitor of whichever booted up first. It wouldn't let me switch between them. It would let me go into hotkey mode when I used the numlock key and the - key from the number keypad on the right of my keyboard. When the capslock key light and scrLk light where alternatingly flashing, I then pressed either 1 or 2 on the number pad (right hand side of keypad) and then enter. This worked! It won't work if I use the normal number keys above the standard (QWERTY) keyboard!

You might want to try moving the RF receiver to the other USB port. I had a similar problem where the Scroll Lock would not work (and thus no switching), and swapping the RF receiver to the other USB port resolved it. (Don't know why though)

I emailed the manufacturers who were very friendly and had a few suggestions, none of which worked. In the end they suggested I return it to the retailer for a replacement. I have done this and the new one seems to work OK.

I ran an Aten CS-62U for around 12 months or so using it with a Mac G3 and a PC and using a Mac keyboard and MS mouse. Worked perfectly. Then one day a couple of weeks ago, the switching simply would not work. Could not go from PC to Mac, and the little light showing the Mac was on on the CS-62U would did not come on. In that configuration, I had the Mac as 1 and the PC as 2.
Figured it had just died. Now I need to link two PCs using a KVM, bought a new CS-62U and same thing. I cannot invoke the the Hotkey Mode at all to activate the switching device. My email is [email protected] if anyone has any suggestions.

I have the same problem with a brand new CS62U 2 port switch not switching between 2 PCs. Neither the hotkey mode or double clicking scroll lock works. WOuld be grateful if anybody has an answer.

I had a blackout that reset both my systems yesterday. When they came back, the KVM would listen to the keyboard during GRUB (so I could choose my OS) but not afterwards - it wouldn't even pass the mouse or keyboard info through to the system. (I know the M&KB work because I tried plugging them straight in - they work fine.)
I just tried swapping my receiver to the other USB port, and it would let the keyboard and mouse work on the first system, and scan between the systems, but I couldn't *stop* it scanning, and it wouldn't pass keyboard or mouse through to the second system, only the first (in fact, I think it was passing ALL the commands through to the first system).
