Router has worked fine for years no problems. Suddenly yesterday it turned itself off. I unpluged and plugged back in. It runs through start up and then immediately powers down. Have tried to reset several times.

SOURCE: Linksys WRT54GX2 constantly disconnects

I just upgraded from firmware version 1.01.14 to 1.01.22 and I have the same problem, the router just keeps resetting itself. I think the solution is to go back to the old firmware, but I haven't been able to find a copy yet, Once I find firmware version 1.01.14 for the WRT54GX2 router. I will let you know if this is the solution... :)

SOURCE: Blinking power light - router not working properly

Blinking power light on the Linksys routers indicate 2 things. 1st is firmware problem, 2nd is the worst one which is defective router. You can still revive it if you can reload the firmware. If not, it's a dead one and you need to purchase a new one. And man, your router is a very old one. You must switch to wireless G router, its 5 times faster than your wireless B and it only cost 30 or 40 bucks

I have a Linksys E1000 wireless router. It has been working fine. The power cord it is on was unplugged briefly last night. Now when I plug it back in, all the blue lights are flashing and I can't get...

have you tryed turning off computer, router, and modem if you have one. then unplug all connections from router (phone line, ethernet net cable and power cord). Then wait 2 min then plug all back in, and turn on modem, router, then computer. We lost power yesterday for 3 hrs and I needed to actually turn in all off and unplug power cords then turn it all back on to rest and reboot them to get them working properly. Hope it helps.

Ip addy changed cant connect to wireless

Turn the cable-modem (or DSL-modem) off.
Turn it on.

Turn off the router.
Turn it on.

Restart your computer.
After you do, your "wireless" connection should work.
If you have an Ethernet cable between the router and the computer,
then your "wired" connection also should work.

Dynex router won't communicate with the modem.

If you connect the modem to the computer, does it go online ?
If your computer is online through the modem, then the modem is working properly.
Check the connections between the modem and the router.
Reset the router for 30 seconds , unplug the power to the router and plug it back in. Wait for 1 minute and set up the router again manually.

I have a Linksys wired router, which I have had for years and everything worked fine until a couple of days ago when I was no longer able to connect to the internet. I disconnected the router and connected...

Hello,

Do this with your network setup. Power down your DSL/Cable modem first by unplugging the power. Power down the router next by unplugging the power. Power off your computer also. Now , power up the dsl/cable modem and let it resync with the ISP ...all lights green and showing activity. Next power up the Linksys router and then do a factor restore reset by pushing in the reset and holding it for a count of 5 (the front lights will go red then flash) let go of the reset as your linksys router is all set to default setttings from the factory. Now power up your computer and try the internet after it boots up. Should hook to the internet with no problems now. Now access your router menu by typing http://192.168.1.1 and hit enter. The router log in menu should now display. just click on the password tab and enter admin the default password and then change your password in the router to something hard to remember and WRITE IT DOWN! There is also great help from linksys web site on networking your home. Good luck,

My Linksys Router has been working fine for 3 years. Suddenly, it stopped working and the Security LED is stuck at Orange and Internet LED doesn't light up. Is it a problem with the Line ?

Router can be misconfigured.
Try to reset to default.

Shutdown your computers.
On the back out the router there is a hole which you can insert a paperclip, toothpick etc, hold it for about 5 seconds then pull out the power plug.
After about 5 seconds plug it back in.
When the lights stabilize boot the computer.

Try to access to default ip: http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.1.101
