Question about Orion STV2763 27" TV
My parents gave me this tv to see if I could get it working again .Ok i tried convergence. I got the red one to work but when i tried the blue it doesn't want to move . The top of screen looks like a wave and the bottom curves down on the right side .I do not know much about big screens so any help would be apreciated. I cant even find this type of tv on the net so I know it's going to be hard to fix. When i got the red to line up with the blue the picture was clear but still went up and down at the top and bottom. so I think if I can get the blue to move it will fix it.
I have the same model of Studio Series (42HD43A). All the descriptions everyone is getting is the same problem I ran into a little over two years ago. The solution is to replace the convergence board on the set. Then run the perfect picture. Total time of repair, less than 30 minutes. The tricky part is getting the board in the first place. By the way, mine just went out again tonight. On average, these boards only last 2-3 years.

First off this TV is a Samsung, apperently many Samsung DLP's have this issue. Not the plasmas, but more in the DLP realm. If you take off the back of the tv on the bottom left side you will see a board, with 2 large IC chips. The model number on the chips are STA-XXXX. Not sure what the numbers on them are biggest IC's I have ever seen. Other than some PIC microprocessors. These chips are the likely canidate, as they control the convergance. The board they are attached have plugs labeled Red Green and Blue. With the wires leading to the red green and blue projectors. I got my tv for free from a friend, and it has had the whole convergance board replaced. Unfortunatly this did not work for them hence why it became mine. I figured having a degree this would be an easy fix. Blue convergance is adjustable, my Red convergance is locked (will not move). And the green is non adjustable from the factory. Unless there is a remote code that will make it adjustable. So I moved on to projector's themselves figuring the would be manual adjustments on them. And there is, 4 adjustments to be exact 2 of them fine adjustments and 2 of them coarse. If you look closely near the base of each projection tube by the circuit board you will see tabs that you can move left and right in a circular fashion around what appears to be the cathode tube for each of the color projection units. 2 tabs on top (metal tabs) are fine and the 2 lower are plastic and encompass the rough adjustment. The lower have a type of screw lock on them that has to be loosend before the rough adjustment can be moved. This is as far as I have gotten. This does take 2 people, 1 to turn the tabs and another to watch if the convergance is lining up. It also takes some skill a little turn make alot of difference. 3rd it takes some balls you could be shocked, or really mess up the tv. In searching this problem I have found that some times replacing the IC's works. And as with my tv replacing the whole board did not work. This is what I have asessed so far I will post again if and when I can determine what the problem and how to fix it is.

Your convergence ICs sound like they went. Replace them and also check resistors around the ICs

I have the same TV I bet they got the TV with the new modular home. I have problems getting my convergence to work as well but only on 1080. 480 will work fine. The blue is off on 1080. I can move them manualy but not quite enough. Also the corners are a bit off. Let me know if you had any luck with this. I think my next line of tries will be to actually go into the tv and adjust the individual ones...not sure.
I have the same model TV which was given to me, but it turns off a couple of seconds after it's turned on. Any ideas?
Nate
on my same model when i plug it in the little red timer light blinks when i hit power it sounds like its coming on but there is no picture please help [email protected]
I have the same TV as well. The convergance went haywire and I don't even have the original remote. Is Orion the manufacturer and if not, who is the actual manufacturer?
I also have the same problem and mine came as part of the "entertainer package" when I purchased my modular home. There is a blue shadow. I have tried to adjust the convergence but nothing seems to work. I've called a couple repair places but none will even look at it because they've never heard of the brand Studio Series. I've searched the internet for the name, but didn't find anything. I also search for the address of the company that is on the back, but haven't found anything there.
All my wife asked for for Christmas was to get the tv fixed and I can't figure it out myself or find anyone who will even look at it. If anyone knows if there is another manufacturer name or has any ideas on how to fix it, it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Have same issue as another poster. Unit will turn on and act as though it is powering on, but there is no picture on the screen. It then shuts off. Nothing ever comes on the screen.
I have the same problem and I called the place I bought my home. They advised to contact the manufacture of the Fleetwood Homes. Fleetwood advised me to contact the manufacture of Studio Series in Knoxville Tn. at 1-865-694-2704 ext.116 and speek to a Kelly Green. I did all this and found it may be cheeper to buy a new one. Ms. Green will advise you where the nearest repair shop is located. She will also advise the price of a new TV set. This set is a Samsung, Model # HCN4226W for repair purposes.
