What is this red flashing light that you are talking about? Please specify the symbol that is in question. The owners manual has a section that covers the gauge cluster and what the warning lights mean. Is this light is a lock symbol or something referring to the vehicles anti-theft system. Could this light be the oil symbol? If this is the oil symbol then this issue could be related to low or poor oil quality (oil change needed), the oil pressure sending unit is faulty, the wiring to the oil pressure sending unit is damaged, or the oil pump or the oil pressure regulator is weak or damaged. Malfunction indicator light it is the symbol of your engine with a line of suffering and the word "CHECK" -- this could be something minor like needing a spark plug to be replaced (common problem) or to something more serious like engine electrical work needed. a flashing engine light is the more serious so you are not to worry.
