Question about LG WM2042 Front Load Washer
I have tried running a cycle of vinegar, bleach, baking soda and vinegar, pinesol, you name it and i've tried it; but my washer (LG Front Loader) is only 3 years old and each time I wash towels (this problem doesn't happen with a different load) when they are done washing--they smell really bad. Im not sure what else to try. Im at my witts end. Should I throw them out and buy new or is there something I should be doing to the washer? I cleaned all around the door with CLR and bleach. I lifted up the seal and cleaned under there (boy was that blacker than crap)so I know that the unit is clean.. I've even tried washing in different temps.. help me!!
Hi
Try using bleach with hot water, run a cycle with hot water and bleach. Or spray bleach +water mixture on the seal. Run a cleaning cycle with hot water and bleach or vinegar at least once a month to reduce the growth of mold in other parts of the washer. You can also try using 1/2 a cup of Washing Soda or 4 cups of baking soda Crystals and run the machine with no clothes in it. This would remove all the debris, lint & mold growth from the drain pump and drain filter. This would clean the mold from the door seal as well. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.
