DISC DETECTION I just moved to a new apartment but I didn't remove the disks from the unit to transport it. Now when I try to use it, it just starts turning an it shows the "DISK DETECTION" message and it will not stop. I removed all disks and tried with only one but it will never stop turning. The only time it stops turning is when I open the door, but once I close it will go on turning.

If there is a disc in the changer (I guess it's in the tenth slot), try removing it, if it doesn't work by 'normal' means and you feel brave, try shaking the unit a bit. If it doesn't help or you don't feel like banging on it, you'll have to take it for a repair (they open the unit and extract the disc, they get jammed sometimes).

i have same prob,seen this elsewhere folks. apparently it's the temp sensor which MAY have failed. http://www.howtomendit.com/answers.php?id=134096
has to be cheaper than an expensive call-out and worth a try.

SOURCE: the disc drawer most of the time will not open .

The problem on hard to open disk tray is cause by lens reading failure.Once the cd tray is close the lens reading initializes if initialization fails the system will hang no command on CD function will be accepted because the Lens is not park on it's standby position therefore no second function is recognize replacing the lens will clear the problem...The lens are still available in an electonics spareparts store.you need to open the cover of the component and get the part no.
I t would be better to bring your unit to a qualified service personnel because this kind of unit is hard to dis assemble specially the loading system of the disk there are timing gears in it be very careful when disassembling it.You can try it anyway goodluck and godbless!

It says reading disk and that is as far as it will go.

the unit is trying to read the disc. when it cant do this as a security feature so the disc is not jammed in the unit it discharges it. the reason is a dirty laser or bad disc. as im sure you have tried several disc then i would move to the last stage or repair you need to get the lazer clean there are two ways to do this send it into the shop for a servcie pro to take the unit apart and clean the lazer. but in most cases its just a little dust on the laser lens that can be removed using a laser disc cleaner you can buy them at most electronics shops that sell electronic equipment such as tvs dvds etc. they range from $5 to $40. purchase one and run it through you dvd player several times and you should be right back on track..

If the dealer already looked at this then your going to have to go by thier recommendations or go to a car audio installation shop. They may have more insight than the dealer. As far as getting the disks out once the unit is out of the car it can always be taken apart to remove the disks.

Is there a way to remove the tray from a 5 disc cd changer(sony, if it matters)? It was moved with cd inside and now has fallen behind the tray and I can't get it out or close the tray... thanks

Check the side of the unit for screws, the top of this should come apart to get your cd out. Removing the disk tray would be hard, also you would have to open the unit up to remove the tray. Good Luck hope you get it out.

When I insert a disk, on the screen says ''loading'' but no movie then it says ''incorrect disk'' i AM INDERTING THE CORRECCT DISK...IT IS FROM ''ECHO BRIDGE ENTERTAINMENT''

Unfortunately this problem is caused when the laser is having trouble reading the disc. First try unplugging the unit for 5 minutes and power it back up, this will reset the processor and fix any bugs (like a computer).

Failing that there could be a hair or impurity on the lens. Only do this is it is out of warranty and you feel comfortable taking it apart. Remove the cover and open the drawer, you should be able to get a Q-tip and lens cleaner and clean off the laser lens.

If that does not work then the laser/transport is defective and must be repaired. This repair would be around 100 - 150 dollars.

Error 60 each time i try to change disk in pioneer keh p3600r

manual should have a list of error codes ,pioneers pretty ok like that , u can call them direct , meantime make sure disc is clean ,try store bought disc , not burned ones , sounds like a mechanical faliure , if unit was recently shipped to you , it may have required "transport "screws . disc tray may have slid into playing area inside unit .

Wont play disks

If this happens with all disks, then the lens are dirty or faulty.

Try first using a cleaner disk. If that does not work, then the player must be taken apart removing screws at the back and at the bottom of the unit, to clean lens manually using isopropyl alcohol and Qtips.

If that does not work, then the lens pickup must be replaced.

Before attempting any repair call manufacturer ringing the number listed on the owners manual.

New jazz cd not reconized by player . It says no disk present .

Your laser lens is probably dirty, try a laser lens cleaner if that doesn't work, unplug the unit and take the outer casing off and manually clean the laser with some alcohol and a dry cotton cloth, would also be a good time( see that you have it apart already) to lubricate the moving components with some Vaseline.

With the power turned off, open the DVD Player, and then open the top where you load the DVD into the player. Locate the laser lens and notice that the laser is attached to a transport assembly that moves the laser diagonally outward in a slot. 1. Slide this assembly outward to the end of its track. 2. Slide the assembly back inward to the closest inward position. 3. Repeat the process of sliding the assembly outward and then back inward.4. Put in a music CD and let it play all the way through. This helps to calibrate the laser head assembly movement. When the music CD is finished playing. 5. Put in a DVD, and you should have a working unit again This is a factory solution from Mintek that was given to a customer who ask for help with the forever loading disc problems. This solution may work on other models of portable DVD players. Most portable DVD players use this type of transport mechanism. Try this solution it might work for you. I had the same thing happen to a used DuraBrand 7" Portable DVD Player. Check and see if the laser transport is locked in at the top of the track -- which would be in position to read the outer edge of the DVD. The laser transport gets locked into this position and you get "no disc" error messages.

I removed the bottom of the DVD player -- a matter of seven screws -- and moved the laser transport by hand nearer to the center post of the DVD turntable. This cured the problem and my DuraBrand is working fine now.

I have no idea what makes the laser transport move to the extreme outer position and get locked there, but this solution works. Good luck with your own.

M-Error is a mechanical error and could have a multitude of causes. just went through it with a TAD-5160 unit where it was a small slip gear moving a tin lever to ingage the transport sled to insert or eject the disk from and to the carusel. You may have to take the unit apart and asess the problem. Harleysp.
