I have a soundstorm SDVD-100 in dash dvd player. It works just fine, but there is a parental control code to play any movie rated above G. I don't have the code and the previous owner says they never changed it and it was in the manual. But I don't have the manual either. Does anyone know what the code was that they came equiped with or how to change it so that I can play a PG rated movie? Any info would be a huge help! Thanks,
This is from the soundstorm website:
If your DVD player shows a "Parental Code" on the screen. Here is the factory default code. It is 3308.
Once you have this code, you can go into the settings and change the level to whichever level you like.
Here is a break down of the levels:
Level 1 = G Rated
Level 3 = PG Rated
Level 4 = PG 13 Rated
Level 6 = PG-R Rated
Level 7 = NC-17
Level 8 = Adult
Level 0 = No Parental

>>> Please leave feedback so I can continue helping You & Others Hi, LOOK FOR A SMALL HOLE IN THE FRONT TO PUSH A PAPERCLIP INTO, BUT TURN THE UNIT OFF FIRST. Try pulling the car fuse out, will have stereo/radio written on fusecase.
With some decks you can get in using either an all 0 code or an all 9 code entered as the parental passcode.. have you disconnected it from the power supply and let it sit for a bit to see if you can clear the memory?
I'm assuming that your trying to fix this item outside a manufacturers warranty. It's gotta be the wiring from the circuit to the speakers themselves. That's all I can think of. If you really can't figure it out, look for a manual somewhere.
There is a factory preset parental code you need to enter (unless that default code was changed). That factory code is in your user manual. In order the enter the codem, you will need the remote (number pad). The remote can be ordered through Soundstorm for $35.00 and you can download the manual from their knowledge base, just search "SDVD-100". Once you have both, just use the number pad on the remote to enter the factory parental code and the system will unlock.
