I have ran a system update via internet before but now when I try to download 1.80 it will say a sever could not be established during the middle of the download. All my connections are right. How can I fix this?
Unplug your internet modem for 15 min, keep the connection to the PS3, of course. do automatic settings, not manual, select easy but DO NOT GO FURTHER until you plug in your internet. Let it cycle, the modem may shut down. if/when it does, turn it on and continue. The PS3 should automatically find everything by itself. Confirm then test the settings. I think that should work.

If you are attempting to perform a system software update via a game disc, ensure that the disc is clean and free from dirt, marks or scratches.
If you are attempting to perform a system software update via an external storage device, download the system software update data again. If the problem persists, attempt to perform the operation using a different external storage device.
If you are attempting to perform a system software update via the Internet, attempt to perform the operation again.
If the problem persists, restart the PS3 system and attempt to perform the system software update again.
1.Go to Settings from your homescreen.
2.Find the ''System Update'' it should be at the top of the list.
3.You are given two choices Update via Internet or Update via Storage Media, select Update via Internet.
4.You should be asked which Access point you want to use, if you've not setup an internet connection with your PSP do it now.
5.It should begin Downloading the update wait for it to download it.
6.It may automatically start the update process(if it automatically starts skip to step 7), if it does not then go back to System Update and select Update via Storage Media.
7.It should ask you to accept the license agreement it should then ask you to make sure not to remove the AC adaptor etc after this it should start updating.
8.Now that it has finished updating, delete the update by going to Games select Memory Stick it should say about the update delete it.
There are two ways to do this 1.For the latest version without having to use the internet, you need to buy one of the latest games then when you try to start it if your version is not high enough it will say ''An update is needed.Update now?'' say yes and follow it's given instructions.
2.You need the internet for this one.
Go to settings from the PSP homescreen,go to System Update you are given two choices Update via Internet and Update via Media Storage, choose Update via Internet it asks you a few questions on whether you want to update say yes to them all, then it should start downloading, when it has finished downloading (It might just ask you whether you want to install the update when it finishes downloading) go back to System Update and this time choose Update via Media Storage,it gives you some instructions and asks you to accept the license agreement then it will start installing, after it is installed go to games and Memory Stick and delete the update.
On the PSP homescreen go to far left menu the ''settings'' menu and go to the top choice ''system update'' it should say ''Update via Internet'' and ''Update via Storage Media'' you need to choose Update via Internet you need a internet connection obviously,so if you haven't made internet settings for the PSP do it now. When you've done it go back to the part I mentioned above and choose Update via Internet I can't remember exactly what happens from here it's not too hard though just say yes to everything it should download it,once it's finished downloading,go back to system update, but this time choose Update Via Storage Media keep your charger plugged in now it might damage your PSP if it runs down while updating, when it's finished you go to back to the Games tab and select the Memory Stick, not the saved data utility,it should have the update in the folder you can delete this now because it'll just take up space on your memory card,it should be all done now.
PS3 has a AACS (Advanced Access Control System) is a
copyright-protection technology that is used on Blu-ray Discs. The
copyrighted content is protected by setting an encryption key on both
the disc and the device used to play the disc.
encryption key expires in 12 to 18 months and must be renewed, so no
matter if you have a new PS3 or using it already make sure you keep
upgrading your PS3 firmware regularly.
There are two ways to update as listed below:
* Update via Internet * Update via Storage Media
Download the update data directly to the system from the Internet. The latest update is automatically downloaded.
Settings -> System Update, Download the latest update data from the
Internet. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the operation.
also perform this system update via a storage media, Use update data
saved on a disc, Memory Stick™ or other media. Download the update data
from a Web site using a PC
