Does it chirp? If so you need convergence chips replaced.

I have a 50fx18b and it wont power up i took the back of the set off it has a red light on but nothing happens when i turn power on

the red light = shutdown led
all the green ones indicate the voltage lines that came up
there is a diagram inside that shows all the leds plus fuse locations. you need to check the fuses with an ohm meter to figure out which one is blow or which voltage doesn't come up. with that info, i can direct you.

I have a hitachi 50FX18B and the convergence lines are not lining up and the picture looks like you are looking through 3D glasses. How do I fix this??

This is a problem with the convergence circuit. If you can solder, you can fix this yourself. Please note as well that there are potentially dangerous high voltages present even when the set is unplugged. That being said... Open up the back and locate the convergence ICs (large black ICs attached to a heatsink and marked STKxxx). Try resoldering the pins on these ICs first. If that fails to resolve the problem, replace the ICs. There may be other related components that need to be replaced as well, but start with the ICs.

Keep us posted.

50 inch rear projection Hitachi looks like your watching in 3d

This is a convergence problem and igf you can solder, you can probably fix this yourself. If you feel comfortable working inside the set, and are aware of the dangers of the high voltage present there. try the following: Resolder the pins on the convergence ICs. If that fails to resolve the problem, replace the ICs. These are large black ICs attached to a heatsink and should be marked STKxxx.

Keep us posted.
