Blue Vertical Line- Akai PDP4298ED

We have had our Akai Plasma TV just over 1 year and a blue vertical line has appeared on our screen. It shows up whether we are on TV mode, Video mode and even S-Video mode. Does someone know either how to fix this or if this is something that needs to be replaced? Thank you!

I have an Akai PDP4273M that developed the same problem. Checking around some of the av forums, I found a couple of threads that indicated it could be dust or bad contact around the ribbon cable connections on the video control board. I removed the back, loosened the ribbon cables on the board and used my small compressor with an air gun to blow out the dust all around the board and the ribbon connectors. Reconnected everything, turned on tv and stripe did not come back. Problem fixed! Nice and cheap solution.

Blue vertical line thru picture

It is called "Thin vertical lines" and change colors depending on the background color.
It is fixable but there are several components that can show this sympton.

You will need a tech to fix it in order to save money (because you do not want to buy a board you dont know if will fix it).
Possible Solutions:
Replace Timer Control Board, if it is not fixed
Replace Sustain Board.

One of those boards needs to be replaced and I wrote the most likely first.
