I have an LG 42pc5d plasma television, and when certain movies are being played, I will get spanish along the bottom of the screen, but only when a character enters a new room/building. An example is I was watching Night at the Museum last night, and when any of the characters entered a new room in the museum, the name of the room would appear at the bottom of the screen, in spanish. To further illustrate, when Ben Stiller is running from the Huns the first night, and enters the elevator, I believe the word "Invertabros" appears at the bottom of the screen.
Also, it is not on the DVD, since my wife brought it back to the store and they tried it out, without any problem. All caption and subtitle options are turned off before the movie is started. This problem does not occur for every movie, just one's that I believe have SAP support. Also, the SAP button on the remote does not bring up any menu on the tv, even though the tv receives the signal (power light blinks when an instruction is sent). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hi
Try going to the audio menu then audio language and see what your settings are also try going to the options menu then caption/text and see what your settings are also in the options menu go to caption option. if that doesn't help try the same thing with the dvd player. hope this helps.

I think you have a defective power board. the pop sound in coming from the board and giving you a low output voltage. do it yourself price about two hundred for parts.
You need your Tv product code wich is located in the back of the TV next to the serial number. you can get one directly from LG ($500-$800) or you can try EBAY, look for a TV non working with a good panel, it doesn´t matter why is not working as long as the panel is in good condition, the price range is wide but you can get one for $150-$250.
If the display is totaly blank from turning the set on it sounds to me that the display is gone and all you can do is replace the display witch for a 42" set it woudl be cheaper to replace.
SAP is short for "second audio program" and is a way to send a second audio track along with the main one. In many areas stations use SAP to provide Spanish or other language sound for movies and other programs. If you have SAP turned on you don't know it until you tune to a channel where it's being used, and then you hear the other sound. Just turn SAP off using the remote control or TV menu.
Hi
I just bought a 42pc5d plasma tv it's an LG I bought it in Sept. 07 it started doing the exact same thing your talking about here the red glow type thing. Luckily for me and I hope in your case that the tv is under warranty, although if you know someone or even a repair place I don't think it would cost much to fix (just a guess but the guy told me that it was an easy fix so don't let them try to screw you). It really is a simple fix according to the tech. You need to adjust the voltage. He took the tv and watched it until he saw the red and adjusted the voltage and I had my tv back the next day. This was about a week ago and I haven't seen it since. I hope this helps and I hope you have a warranty. By the way LG comes with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty standard so if you didn't get an extended warranty from where you bought it if it's less than 2 years old call LG and they will arrange to have it fixed that's what I did. Here's the number 1-888-542-2623. Good luck.
