Our fax machine was sent in for repairs because the paper does not feed through the scanner?s (sending) side. We received it back a couple of weeks later unfixed. We were told that the whole chassis had to be replaced because a small plastic clip broke off. (Reason being people pulling paper out when machine feeds more than one page, which made the gears go backwards)
We asked the technician to show us how & where this part is so that we can glue it ourselves. To no avail. It is at the roller on the right. Please be so kind as to assist in this matter as they want their loan fax back & we need a working fax asap.
Thanking you with regards

THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO CUT A U SHAPED PART AND FIX IT USING SUPER GLUE AND FIX THE WHITE ROLLER ON./ OR REPLACE THE WHOLE CHASSY

you can't send the fax, the paper don't feed, you need to clean the paper path the roller that guide the paper to pass under the the scanner must be cleaned with alcohol. you need to unplug the fax from the power source. after cleaning wait for 10mn and try to send a fax.
Most of these will send a fax without even using the PC. Just connect a phone line, place the document in the proper position, usuallu print side up on newer models, and push the fax button, it should prompt you for the number. Once dialed,, the paper will feed into the scanner portion of the multi, and you will see it on the menu bar saying sending page 1, 2 etc, after if is done sending, it will dial and connect, yu should hear the typical noise a fax makes. then it will say fax sent or end or something similar, that's it, try sending one to a friend to make sure it's working. Now some simpler machines require you to open the scanner portion and lay the paper down in the glass manually, mine does it both ways. In that case just skip the feeding part, and dial wait for it to scan and send.
Most likely a fax has been sent or a page copied with 'white out' (Liquid Paper), still wet on the page. As the page feeds over the scanner, (a narrow strip of glass that runs across the width of the page along the feed path) the wet liquid paper comes off on the glass as a thin line and dries. Thereafter, when copying, scanning or sending a fax, the scanner light does not go through the liquid paper streak and the result when printed is a thin vertical line that runs the full length of the page. If this is the cause you will also find that faxes you send to other people will also have this line (although faxes you receive are not affected by this problem with your machine).
To fix the problem: follow the path that the paper travels when sending a fax or making a copy, until you find the scanner (narrow glass strip). Take a clean, soft cloth and a small amount of methylated spirit (or white spirit) and remove the now dried Liquid Paper from the glass. Clean the whole strip ensuring that the glass is left clean and dry.
You have not specified why you can't read the right side of copies and I am assuming that the reason is because the 'lines' are covering the text. I can offer a solution to the lines issue.

Sounds like you may have a small obstruction in the scanner feed. This would inhibit making copies and sending faxes. Lift this section up slightly to inspect for small pieces of paper or dust. Blowing it out with compressed air would also be a good idea.
Something is blocking part of your scanner light, or scanner light may be bad. Check if the scanner light comes on, and check inside the original feeder and machine for a scrap of paper blocking the scanner light to the imaging drum.
You have an ADF paper feed problem, try taking some rubbing alchoial and clean the ADF paper feed tires, This helps the paper to feed into the scanner unit so the fax can be sent. I have also seen part of the ADF feed unit broken.
Does the paper feed in but not transmitt out?
there is no need to change the setting.just feed the document to be sent and dial the number of the recipient.after hearing the fax tone press enter key
Hi there the thing is if you were to glue this back into place the likely hood is that the machine will not hold as there is a quite a bit of pressure within that area. The best option is to obtain a new machine as trying to fix will out way the cost of the machine.
