My camera was purchased 3 years ago and until now has been working perfectly. Recently it gives a purple/red image when viewing to take a photo and developes the same purple/red image, more like a negative. Please help! Kind regards Bernadette
Bernadette, I know your post is old, but just in case you haven't had your camera fixed yet. This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

Canon Technical Support on their website. I have come across this before with this model a funamental fault perhaps. But at three years- time for a replacement I think Try Canon web site support first.
