Dear Sir! i have a Sanyo Tv,whose model no.is C29AK86C.As the model no. never appears i have selected this.Sorry! when i turn on the tv power with the remote ,the tv automatically shuts off in 2 to 5 mins automatically. i dont know how serious problem it is. i wish to know whether i can go for service ,if it is minor problem or i can go for buying another tv if it is major problem.i am in a dillemma. Coz,i am in singapore ,and its too costly for service here, Please reply in this regard.i would be pleased if i recieve the reply as early as possible to take decision. Thanks a Lot! The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

It would be a waste to take this TV to Brazil, as this is not a Multi system TV, and will not recieve PAL M broadcasts.

TV's have a circuit that monitors the high voltage and shuts down the set if it senses something amiss.
Figure on replacing the flyback transformer.
However, my experiance is to not put money into a TV that is over ten
years old. TVs stress out their electronic components worse than
almost any other electronic product. After 10 years, there are so
many parts that are ready to fail that your are probably wasting your
money trying to get any more life out of it.
Another option is to wholesale replace the main board from an outfit like PTS Electronics at ptscorp.com.

This may be due to the possiblity that the you are on the wrong input source, If you watch HD Channels then the input source would either be componet or HDMI input. Try changing the input source of the television with the TV's remote until you see the Channels again. IF you are not watching HDTV then the television is on the wrong reception channel for the Direct TV's box. Try channel 4 or 3 or even 73.
