I do not own a Z5, but I have a Z3. You can download the manual from this site : http://ca.konicaminolta.com/support/manuals/digital_cameras/dimage-z/ You can choose the language (English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch, Italian Portuguese, Swedish, Finnish) Copy and paste the url to your browser.

Look for a small pinhole to reset the device, but problem may be a defective power switch-verified by disassembly of camera

Camera shuts down after 1-2mins an does not take pics

Just to let you I had Moultire m-80 when I used a pny sd card it ruined my camera. They were kind enough to replace it for me. I just use what they recommended do not have any more problems. I only delete pic on my computer and not digital camera. Try doing a hard reset take everything out turn to the on position for about 2-3 minutes after 3 min put brand new battery's in it while on the on position should say no card at this time. If doesn't turn camera off put sandisk sdhc card in it. Test camera again if still not working Moultire will help you I have talked them great customer service.

Have rebuilt motor new everything from mazda now i have pooo12 code retarded intake cam checked timing with sst and ex and in cam are in perfect alignment with sst the solniod tested out fine . the only...

remember 1 thing..dont confuse cam timing with ignition timing also if the belt or chain has alignment dots or marks on it ..it can be put on backwards and still line up marks correctly but but in a different position making the cam timming off i have done it and seen it done before like an old chevy when you put timming gear set on you line up the 2 dots alot of people think that is tdc and they set up ignition and go to start it and get pops and bangs well thats because the the install dots are actully 180 degrees out from tdc so you remove the distributor and turn it 180 deg. and now she starts right up i think you have 1 of these cams a tooth off or your using marks incorectly or belt or chain is backwards making dots align in different postion appearing correct

I just checked my valve clearence and adjusted my cam chain with the cam chain tensioner while the piston was at top dead center on its compression stroke. when I put everything back together it ran fine...

I put my piston to toop dead center and readjusted my cam chain and it seems to be running fine. The only thing I had to do was to turn the idle up a notch which still kind of gets me....but it's better now.

D80 ERR & CHR message

Hello Michaela1,

There are a few things I can recommend:

1. Please check your card on some other camera to make sure the media is alright.

2. I am not sure if you take the SD card out of the camera and put it into a card reader (stand alone, in your laptop/PC) to read the images. As I understand, you first took out the card and then put it back into the camera to read from the camera once it did not work in the card reader. However, there are issues with doing both. I will outline them below.
  • Card Reader: At times, reading a card in a card reader will mess it up and it will remain unusable in the camera even if it displays photographs on camera LCD. Please note, this will happen even if you have only viewed the photographs on your computer and not saved them to your hard drive/media. The card will most definitely not work in camera if you delete photographs from the card or edit them on the card. The only solution to this is to format that card IN the Camera. The manual has instructions for the same.
  • In Camera: Other times, you may have connected the camera through the USB cable to a computer with the card in the camera. This problem may crop up IF you used your computer to delete images from the card whilst it was IN the camera. Again, the solution is to format the card. IN the camera, not from the PC.
3. Whether you use the USB cable or take out the card and put it into a card reader to save your photographs, always repeat ALWAYS format your card in the camera after transferring your photographs. This ensures card will not malfunction unless the media is corrupt. This also has the added benefit of not having the same photographs a few times over.

4. Try not to leave your images in the card after taking photographs. Try to save them to your PC at the earliest opportunity. Format after-wards (I can not repeat this point enough).

5. Use multiple cards of smaller capacity. They are cheaper to buy. Even if you lose one card to a mal-function, you still have photographs on others.

I hope this helps.
