If the rechargable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

Why will my ellipsis 7 no longer hold a charge ?

All rechargeable batteries will eventually fail to take and/or hold a charge. In some cases it is due to being worn out, in others it is due to what is called "battery memory". Battery Memory occurs when a battery is charged often, but is not allowed to fully discharge between chargings. It was really bad with the old Ni-Cad type batteries, but all batteries can have some affects.

WHY isn't MY TOMTOM CHARGING? It's BEEN PLUGged IN FOR 45 MINS.

Usually an old (or older) battery will no longer hold a charge ... or will only hold a small charge (that will let you run the GPS for only a few minutes).
Often, when the TomTom device is always connected to the charger (in a vehicle), where it charges every time the car is turned on, whether the TomTom is being used or not, the battery gets charged (partially or fully) often enough to use up the "maximum number of charge" cycles for the battery. Hence, it will no longer charge properly or hold a strong charge.
Like for all lithium batteries, it's better if your device is not always connected and being charged (whether you are or are not using it). The battery will last longer and it will still be able to hold a stronger charge.

Motorola radius cp200 will not hold a charge

when charging a new battery for the FIRST time, most require a full 24 hours to be properly charged. Failing to do this will drastically diminish the life of the battery. If you did fully charge the battery the first time, another issue is recharging after EVERY use vs charging when completely drained. Battery will develop memory (although the manf. will say other wise). If you charge after every use and have only used a third of the charge, after a few time of doing this, you will notice that the battery will not last as long. Try one more battery in just one raido. Fully charge it the first time and only recharge when COMPLETLY drained. If the battery is still not holding a charge, it is most likly a short in the radio itself. Return it.

My old 611 dosent hold the battery charge for long even though I have put in a new battery

An in car charger will not charge as well as the mains, when charging for the first time you should use the mains, and charge for at least 8 hours. If it didn't charge correctly, it will be the same low charge all the time, as the battery has a memory that makes it charge the same each time. Try charging from the mains, you might be lucky.

My garden tractor is not holding it's battery charge. I replaced the battery, but still doesn't hold a charge after I use it.

If you replaced the battery with a new one and it is not holding a charge, then your charging system is not putting out enough power to run the mower AND recharge the battery. So you need to figure what is wrong in the charging system.

I have a Ryobi 18v drill with battery 130429002 that will not hold a charge. Expensive battery with very little use. Can you help?

If both batteries won't hold a charge the problem may be the charger (not providing a full charge). If one battery is OK and one not holding a charge, the problem is probably a defect with the battery. I know there expensive, (I recently had to replace one for DeWalt).

Does not hold battery charge

Since you have a new phone and a new battery and is still doesn't work ... the first step should be to take it back to where you got it ... have then evaluate it for possible replacement.

My sanyo pm 8200 wont hold charge!

Hello,

Since the battery and charger are new and yet it does not still hold charge.

Have put the battery in another similar phone and try to charge with your charger to see if it will hold charge? if you have.

It means the charging port of your phone is bad and you will need to replace it.

The charger is not charging the battery in anyway because the charging port is bad, so just change your charging port, your phone will now hold charge.

Take care.
