Look for a small pinhole, then insert a pin with batteries in to reset the camera

The lens of canon a520 camera doesnt retract. My son has hardpressed it and it doesnt zoom in or zoom out.

Hi.

Are you receiving an error on the LCD screen such as "Lens Error" ? If so, this camera is defective and needs to be returned to Canon or an authorized dealer for repair.

If you are not receiving any error messages, does the camera have power (turn on and off) and still not zoom? If this is the case it would also be very unusual without an error message. Either way, you are still looking at a repair for this product.

Typically, a Powershot camera of this age would cost over $100.00 to repair at most facilities. You would be better off purchasing a brand new camera (with more megapixels and features) for around the same price as a repair.

I am unable operate canon a520 due to jam in camera shutter / lens since at the time of power on camera gets on with canon bird image after few seconds it get off there is no function on shutter / on zoom...

Sounds like it will have to be send to canon for repair.

Lens error

i had the same problem....my problem was the lens was pushed forward and the third zoom was pushed back. so the lens is blocking the cover(thing that covers the lens) so push the lens back carefully with a cottom swab and pull the third zoomer thingy out.

Two different Canon A520 problems.

hey guys. there is no solution that you can do it for yourself. the best solution i can give for you is take it to service centre. here in india we get charged nearly 1800rupees for servicing the lens portions.
