My husband bought me a new Insignia Flat Screen TV for Xmas. This weekend the screen is actually scrolling....it stays up for 20 seconds or so and then scrolls to a screen full of vertical lines ???
Oh...my husband did not keep the receipt- it was bought from Future Shop.
Help....any suggestions? Anyone experience this?

My son purchased a 42" Insignia TV for me before he died. ... Bought 50 inch Insigniaand after 13 months screen starts going black but sound stays on. ... I was having problems with the Netflix app on my 42" Insignia smart TV, so I took the ...
Sounds like a projection issue within the TV itself. Nothing that I think you can fix. A year is not up and it should be under warranty. Send it back to them and they will send you another or fix it. I had an issue like this a while back and I left the TV off a couple of days under a window with direct sunlight. I think it was too Humid in the room it was in or moisture set in. Either way, It was not under warranty and the picture returned like it was brand new. My mom has it now.
You can buy an assortment of universal support bracket or universal stands at stores like walmart, Best Buy etc.... Check the back of your insignia and you will see the threaded holes made for this kind of bracket. I bought a 42 inch flat screen and bought a combination table/mounting bracket. It's great. Make sure you get a bracket that matches or exceeds the weight of the TV though. Good luck and feed back if u can.
Nothing at all? Does the screen seem to go from dark black to a lighter shade of black?
If the screen appears to stay on the darker shade of black then it is broken, and needs to be sent for repair. ( ie the screen isnt powering on when the tv is and there is nothing you can do without opening it.
You might try unplugging all cables and leaving it off with no power for a day This is in effect performing a factory reset.
and this may sound stupid and patronizing but is the TV being taken out of standby mode and actually switched on?
sounds like you have some lines of dead pixels, is this an LCD screan or a plasma screen? if it's LCD then it is dead or stuck pixels, check your owners manual and there should be a section on stuck pixels if its and LCD tv.
