Having trouble finding driver for Quantum XL6000.

I am having trouble getting my new computer (Vista, HP) to locate drivers for my Quantum XL6000. I have installed the conversion tool software and though that is the driver, when I plug in the USB to serial port, it tries to located driver for new hardware but cannot find it. Please help.

thanks, what I found out is that I needed a new cable with a software driver that is compatable with Vista.

In addition to the new cable, this might also be helpful: There is a feature in Windows 7 that allows you to run software made for previous versions of Windows. Go go Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features>Run software made for previous versions of Windows.

Your USB to serial port should also come with a driver. Check the packaging. You need to install the driver in order for your computer to pick up the adapter.

Transferring online patterns to machine

1. Your downloaded file must be unzipped.
2. The file needs to be saved in the format for your Singer.
3. Join this Singer support site for your Quantum and others. Ask your question there. http://www.futura-support.com/

I suspect it's a format issue. I had troubles getting my Janome to recognize my USB stick(S) Finally after an especially scathing email, they sent me a stick that worked.

My embroidery (Singer Quantum XL6000) requires the Windows XP and lower on a computer to acquire additional patterns, will it work with Windows 7?

Mine works with Vista. :)
Just install the XP patch (futura-support.com/downloads/patch.htm) and tell Windows 7 to run the software in XP mode.

What do I need to format a Smart Card for the Quantum XL 6000? My machine came with PSW but it isn't there. Does Embird work for this?

DID YOUR MACHINE COME WITH PSW (IF SO THAT IS GREAT BECAUSE IT IS AN 800.00 PROGRAM) OR DID IT COME WITH SEW WARE CONVERSION? YOU USE THE PSW LIKE EMBIRD, AND YOU CAN USE THE SMART CARD TO SAVE YOUR DESIGN ONTO AND THEN INSERT INTO THE SLOT ON THE XL6000, OR SEND IT TO YOUR MACHINE THROUGH THE SEW WARE CONVERSION AND NULL MODEM CABLE. YOU CAN USE EMBIRD FOR YOUR DESIGNS BUT TO GET IT TO THE XL6000 YOU NEED TO SAVE IT TO THE CARD OR GO TO SEW WARE CONVERSION.
