Need spare key and transponder key for remote start universal byp

2007 mitsubishi eclipse loaded v6;
key type and vin currently not available but can get them; no markings on remaining key ie pk2 or pk3
need only simple transponder key, not trunk, panic, unlock etc.
dealer wants 120 or 162 per key (depends on vin)plus $75 each for programming.

Must the new keys be programmed by the dealer? There are instructions on the web for in car programming of an eclipse but the year is not specified.

Can a simple transponder key be used (aftermarket) or must the full key with the remote controls be purchased?

Thanks!

You have to tow car to dealer - then they cut and program key - yes,it is a bit pricey!

2007 mitsubishi eclipse hard to start after filling up tank. No check engine light on. Bad starter?

Maybe the carbon cannister is loaded up. Try parking the car facing uphill and see if that's better.

Starter is probably OK. Need more symptoms. OR it will be 20 question time. Takes a LONG time cranking B-4 the engine begins to run? That's what I'm guessing.

Does nothing to take the key back out and try it again.Just keep cranking until the engine starts to run.Don't be afraid to crank it for 15 seconds,or so.

Mitsubishi wont start

Yes thats correct ,sounds like someone taped the chip to the transponder under the cowling and when the dealers programmed it they found the chip and removed it .

How do i diss-arm the engine immobilizer?

The 'immobilizer' is an integral part of the engine computer and cannot be disarmed. It can, however, be tricked. There is a device used on cars with this system that tricks the computer to think the key is there during remote start. The bypass module, as it is called, learns the transponder code from the key (more advanced models) or just uses a spare key with a transponder in it to trick the engine computer. This requires you to have the key to the vehicle. If you don't have the key, the only option is to get a dealer to cut you one based on your VIN number. You'll have to provide proof of ownership. They do it this way because just anyone could get a VIN number from a parking lot and have a key made if they didn't require proof of ownership.

Now, you didn't give any information about what model car you have and the year, so I can't give you more detailed information on what type of immobilizer system the car has and different ways, if any, that it can be tricked. Keep this in mind when you rate.

I am going to buy a used 2002 Galant which only has one ignition key. Can a spare ignition key be purchased? If so, from where and how much would it cost? The key I am told has a computer chip so a...

Keys are available outwith the Mitsubishi dealer. Keys supplied will have a transponder chip in them but this will need to be coded into the car, which, if the key supplier cannot code, will then need to go to a Mitsubishi dealer. Probably easier going direct to the dealer

How do you replace a lost key for a lexus rx 330

You need to bring the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) to a Lexus dealer, where they will check that against a stolen car database, and ensure you receive the correct key. This key usually has an internal transponder-computer chip to match the vehicle. Not inexpensive but there's pretty much no way around this.

Hope this helps.
