Circuit breaker trips when dishwasher is off.

Whenever I open the dishwasher door, the circuit trips. If I close the door then turn the washer on, it cycles fine. However, when I open the door again (or shortly after) the breaker trips. I am going to try to remove the toe panel and check the wiring. I will also run an extension to another outlet. Anyother suggestions??

The problem will be in the circuit to the door
opening the door and it trips the breaker indicates that the hinge is rubbing on a wire or making the harness move to ground out

SOURCE: Dishwasher tripping the circuit breaker

Andy, leave the breaker off and remove the toe panel (bottom panel) from the dishwasher. Remove the cover of the junction box where the cord connection or wiring is made. Look at the wire caps and see if they are not burnt. Sometimes these connections become loose and arch, tripping the breaker. If so, cut the wires, strip a new end and reconnect. My Haier DW12 dish washer does not switch on?

If your Haier DW12 dishwasher is not switching on, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the power source: Make sure that the dishwasher is properly plugged into a functioning power outlet. You can test the outlet by plugging in another device to see if it works.
  2. Check the circuit breaker: Check the circuit breaker for the room where the dishwasher is located. If the circuit breaker has tripped, reset it and try turning on the dishwasher again.
  3. Check the door latch: Ensure that the dishwasher door is fully closed and the latch is properly engaged. The dishwasher will not turn on if the door is not securely closed.
  4. Check the control panel: Inspect the control panel for any damage or signs of wear. If the buttons or display are not working, it may be a problem with the control panel.
  5. Check the fuse: Check the fuse in the dishwasher's power cord. If the fuse is blown, replace it and try turning on the dishwasher again.
  6. Professional repair: If none of the above steps work, it may be a more serious problem that requires professional repair. It is recommended to contact Haier customer support or a professional repair technician for assistance.
It is important to take caution when attempting to troubleshoot or repair a dishwasher, as these appliances can be dangerous if not handled properly. If you are not confident in your ability to perform repairs, it is best to seek the assistance of a professional.

Asko d1756 power trips when door is closed

The switch in the door may have a bare wire touching the sides causing a short. Check a schematic for the proper way to remove and test the switch. Look for bare wires or any insulation cracks.

My dishwasher was in the middle of a cycle and it just quit. The buttons dont light up. It doesn't turn on at all. What could be wrong with it?

Sonya, have you checked the circuit breaker in your home's circuit breaker panel to see it has been tripped? Also, is the dishwasher door tightly shut? If the breaker is tripped, reset it to see if the dishwasher trips it again. If it does, either breaker is faulty or the dishwasher has a short circuit in the electrical circuitry. You'll need an authorized service person for that.

My Nobel dishwasher keeps tripping the circuit breaker. I think it is when the detergent door flips open it shorts the sytem? anybody know what I can do?

Something to try. Get a short HD extension cord and plug the washer in to a outlet just outside of the kitchen and see if a different breaker trips. Turn off and or unplug all small appliances when using washer. Could have a defective breaker. Good luck, best regards.

Whirlpool duet has no power

Is the power cord plugged into a grounded 3 prong outlet?
Plug power cord into a grounded 3 prong outlet.
Are you using an extension cord?
Do not use an extension cord.
Has a household fuse blown, or has a circuit breaker tripped?
Check to see if a household circuit breaker or Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) outlet has tripped. If so, reset the circuit breaker or Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter. If the washer is on a fuse box, check to see if a fuse has blown and replace it, if necessary. If the problem continues to occur, call an electrician.
Are both the hot and cold water faucets turned on?
Turn on the water. Check the household faucets to see if the hot and cold water faucets are turned on. Make sure to open both faucets completely for proper fill.
NOTE: Both hot and cold water must be connected to the washer and turned on. The washer will not operate properly with only one incoming source of water.
Is the water inlet hose kinked?

Straighten the water inlet hoses.
Are the water inlet valve screens on the washer clogged?
Turn off the water and remove the inlet hoses from the washer. Remove any accumulated film or particles. Reinstall hoses, turn on water and check for leaks.

Is the washer in a normal pause in the cycle?
The washer pauses for about 2 minutes during certain cycles. Allow the cycle to continue. Some cycles feature periods of tumbling and soaking.
Is the washer door firmly shut?
The door must be completely closed for the washer to operate. The door may look closed, but may not be latched. Open the door and close firmly.
Are the shipping bolts removed?

All four shipping bolts must be removed from the rear of the washer before you operate the washer. Each unit is shipped from the factory with four bolts, which are designed to protect the washer during shipping. Failure to remove all of the shipping bolts, and the four plastic spacers that are with them, can result in noise, vibration, error codes and possible machine damage.
Has a cycle been selected, but Start has not been selected and held for 1 second?
Press and hold Start for 1 second.
Is the Control Locked status light on?
Press and hold the End of Cycle Signal button for three seconds. This will turn off the Control Lock feature.
Is the Delay Wash status light on?
Your washer will start after the selected hours of delay are completed.
Was the door left closed after the last cycle?
The washer door must be opened and closed again to start a new cycle. If the door is not opened between cycles, the washer may not start.
