GE model DDE8505 dryer just Stopped working.

One day I was drying clothes. Then it just stopped. It only runs when you place the dryer on "Optional Extra Care". All other choices do not work.

SOURCE: Maytag Electric Dryer Stopped Working

Check spring tab behind door switch-if it's bent/out of adjustment, circuit will act like door is always open.

To confirm this, open door, set dryer to active setting, and hold in door switch; if it comes on, then it's either the spring tab, or the switch is malfunctioning

SOURCE: My Maytag dryer won't dry clothes.

Pull the dryer out away from the wall. Unhook the vent from the dryercompletely. Do not put anything over the dryer exhaust on the back ofthe dryer. Do a normal load with the vent unhooked. If it dries betteror ok like this then the problem is in the dryer venting. Like ablocked vent pipe or a smashed or restricted vent hose.
If the vent doesn't make a difference, then check the blower wheel for excessive lint build up, check thatthere isn't anything stuck to the air intake baffle inside the drum,(i.e. the screen on the back wall of the dryer when looking into thedrum). Check the lint filter chute for blockage. Check that the heatingelement isn't shorted to ground. Check the exhaust temperature of the dryer. A meat or pocket thermomter can be used for this. It should cycle between 120 degrees and 160 degrees. Check that the drum seals are not worn out.

SOURCE: Dryer stopped working mid-cycle.

I presume she pushed the start button again. Can you hear the motor running? If so, it's a broken belt. The door switch can fail anytime. If the dryer started ok later, the motor was overheated. Lighter loads will avoid a lot of problems, and the dryer will probably work better.

SOURCE: The dryer won't run. Dry, extra dry, and coold down process lights are lit.

Hi, the lights are signaling a control fault the is concerning the logic sector of the control board/timer. you will need to make sure that the wiring harness is connected to all points and it should be in good condition. if there are no apparent issue with the wiring harness, replace the control.

GE DSXH43EAWW dryer stopped working mid cycle

unplug it,take it apart and check it out,you could have snapped the belt, there's a belt switch so if the belt breaks the dryer won't start,or if you haven't taken the dryer apart and cleaned it out and also the vent line you could have popped one of the t-stats,only way to tell is by checking them with a meter.the dyer should be cleaned out once a year ,if not the air can't move freely and one of the t-stats will pop as a safety, the dryer will run to hot and take out the thermal fuse or the high limit t-stat,if it's been taking longer to dry the clothes or if you see lint stuck to the bottom of the dryer door these are signs of bad air movement and the dryer and vent line needs to be cleaned out.

GE DCXR463EA1WW that has stopped heating.

Probably a bad heating element. Sometimes one side will burn out before the other, so it takes a lot longer to dry. Then the other side burns out and it won't dry at all. Usually thermostats last longer than elements.

Hoover clothes dryer 3.5 kg 3525D stop working

If it does not even start then it is power supply.
If it stopped running at all then it is probably the motor.
If it runs but not dries is the heating element to be replaced.
