Question about TP-LINK Tenda W311R WirelessN Router AP 4port Switch 150Mbps
My router will not connect to my windstream modem and the internet. when i go to 192.168.0.1 to setup, the page asks for my username and password provided by my isp. when i enter them it goes to the same page and the top says input error. I've tried all of the troubleshooting tips found online and nothing works.
It's not the username and password from your ISP. If you try to access your router and you have not changed anything, use the following values:
username = admin
password = admin
Once in the router interface, you will have to configure the router for your DSL-modem (I guess it's DSL since Windstream does not produce cable modems.)
Here fill in the username and password your ISP provided you with.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi ,This is Clare Su from TP-LINK support technical force.To you issue,I have the following recommendations:1. try to use only one line to connect to the internet,and see if you can watch the video on youtube2.if you can see the video with one line connected to the internet.Then,you can get another internet line with the router.And you can try to set the rule to the website: youtube, let the flow from youtube come in and out just from one wan port.if you can't solve the issue with my recommendation,you can email me. You can also configure it with below method.
Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access router with above ip then you need to RESET it for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults..Then you can access it with above method. Then click on WAN settings set it as your internet service provider settings enable DHCP Then click on wireless and enable it. . Then click on wireless->wireless security->WEP security there is code password note down it or enter new password then save setting s and restart router. then you can connect wireless with new password. Can you kindly let me know the settings on your modem and router. Whether they are connected via using bridging mode or ppoe mode. In order to find this simply enter 192.168.1.1 in your browser and enter user id as admin and password as admin and hit enter. In advanced lan settings just click on first right hand side edit button and click next and see wether ppoe is selected or bridging is selected in order to ascertain the ip of wifi modem simply click on start button when connected to internet via wifi modem and select run type cmd and hit enter in the black window type tracert www.google.com wait for few seconds the first ip in the list will be your modems ip. use the same method as described above to find which way is it connected to server bridging or ppoe.
