Lights work, LCD works but DVD won't start - seems there is no power to the DVD unit. DVD unit by itself works fine. Can someone help? I have a service plan with BestBuy but turns out they are no good unless they still carry that unit - and they don't - so I am left to try to fix on my own - hopefully with the help of someone in the forum.
If you purchased an extended service plan from Best Buy, then it's not voided just because they don't carry the product any more. Mobile electronics change yearly; almost nothing that was sold two years ago is still available. If your local store won't help you, contact the corporate offices at 1-888-Best Buy. They may not be able to replace the unit with the same model, but they are legally responsible for either repairing it or replacing it with something comparable.

Best Buy is willing to replace it with something comparable, except that in this instance, they don't carry anything else that is comparable - the only unit that will cover the existing opening is 2x what I paid for the current unit and the warranty will only cover up to what I paid for the original unit - so, I would have to still pay another $700 to have something "comparable".
