I have an intermatic timer ET170 series and I can't program the days for my lights to come on... I already tried several times but the timer does not take my changes why.

Is this a newly purchased timer?
ET170 series has standard 1 year limited warranty, and is discontinued timer replaced by 7-day, 1 and 2 channel ET1700 series.
The manual shows troubleshoot section:
http://www.intermatic.com/~/media/files/intermatic/products/instructions/timers/et175c%20-%20english.ashx

Last step restoration for electronic timers is to replace battery and push in reset button.
Battery compartment is located below buttons.
Compartment slides down and outward and holds AA battery.
If functionality is not restored, then timer has gone bad.

Timer has been programmed but will not go on or off automaticvally. Has a new battery and the red light is on. I have to use the breaker to turn the pump on and off????

Failure after battery replacement is common complaint about timers.
Chance to restore functionality is to reset timer.
Reset PB300 timer using round reset button on far right side.
If functionality is not restored, then timer has gone bad.
Order new timer module using information on back of timer, and take photo of wiring so new timer can be wired easily.

I do not have an instruction manual for the Intermatic E1400WC timer switch and I can't figure out how to program the on/off times.

Intermatic makes heavy duty Ei400 series 1HP 120V or 240V countdown timer that can be wired for single-pole and 3-way.
Open following link to identify Ei400 timer and download manual:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Countdown-timer-horsepower-ratings.html#Ei

Coundownt timers are used to control fans and lights that need to run certain length of time, and then turn off. For example bathroom fan or whole house attic fan

Intermatic in wall timer , will not switch off. "no Op" shows on screen. I replaced battery.

You posted under Intermatic battery-operated in-wall timer.
That means you have EJ500, ST01C, EI600 timer or EI400.
http://waterheatertimer.org/ST01C-program.html
http://waterheatertimer.org/Flipdown.html

1) No-op means fatal operation error, and timer needs to be replaced.

2) Since fixya customers only like good news:
Intermatic has 1 year limited warranty on these timers if you can demonstrate proof of purchase.
As of right now, April 2011 Intermatic website is closed weekends.
https://parts.intermatic.com/

3) You can try re-seting timer by holding down on-off and then pushing reset button momentarily. Keep holding on-off button until display changes, then release on-off. Then reprogram timer.
Instructions show that resetting timer is last-resort troubleshoot, and if timer does not function afterward, then timer has fatal malfunction.

4) I read where no-op can be fixed by opening timer and adding oil to a gear, but I cannot confirm this and am not going to take apart my test timers.
Since your timer is not working, please take it apart and then add a comment to this thread to confirm or repeal the oil-gear suggestion. I would very much like to know this information, and you can add a photo to your comment showing others how to do it.

I replaced a Intermatic light timer with a GE 15086 timer. I have read several solution, but none fit my wire sceme. This is hooked up as a 3-way switch so the second switch can turn outside lights on...

1) GE 15086 is not a 3-way timer.
GE programmable timers are for single-pole switch replacement only. I have tested this timer, and own several GE timers, and many other brands.

2) Open following link to identify timers that work for 3-way switching.
http://waterheatertimer.org/GE-timers-and-manuals.html#15071

3) After buying correct timer, then you need to review wiring diagrams carefully because the timer replaces 1 of the 3-way switches, but other 3-way switch has to be wired exactly right to match your brand of timer.

4) Links on page above show manuals for each of the 3-way timers. Compare wiring for each timer with Intermatic wiring that you are replacing, because Intermatic is wired differently than Aube.

5) Or just buy another Intermatic ST01C or EJ500 or EI400, etc, and wiring with change out 1 for 1.
