I'm trying to put in 4x6 inch photo paper but the printer won't accept it. It moves around but won't grab the paper. I'm putting it on the right side of the feed tray, short side into the printer, and I tried it on the left as well.
I tried that, and thanks for the suggestion.. but the printer just doesn't grab onto the paper.I tried that, and thanks for the suggestion.. but the printer just doesn't grab onto the paper.

Have you set up the paper size in the printer options when you press print, as it should pop up in a window before the print whre you click ok, asking what quality and size paper, but if you don't tell it it will assume that you are using standard A4 or whatever your standard paper size is.

If you put regular paper in the tray as it is asking does the printer use the regular paper to print the picture? If so, be sure the 4x6 photo paper tray (with photo paper) is pushed all the way in, and when you select print there should be an option (probably hidden in a submenu) to select the photo tray as the paper source. If you are printing from Adobe Acrobat, I have not found a reliable way to get the c6180 to use the photo paper tray.
I hope this helps.
Hi there!
The compatibility of the paper may affect the issue that you are having. I have a brother printer also and prints on 4x6 size what i can suggest is to try turn the photo paper upside down, so facing the tray, 2 sheets at the bottom should have the glossy side up. and the sheet where you need to print the photo should be facing down. So when the paper roller grabbed the photo paper at the top it will smoothly pass thru,
Hope this helps!

When running a piece of photo paper through the printer you must first remove the stack of regular paper from the tray and run only one photo paper at a time. Thank you, Dana
At the printer:
1. Remove any paper from the input tray
2. Put a few sheets of 4x6 (10 or so) in the same tray
3. Adjust the paper holder bar so that the 4x6 paper stays straight in place. The holder bar was holding the 8x11 paper in place.
On the computer:
Open a picture
Seect [File] [Print]
Select the photo printer from the list
Cick on [Preferences]
See the paper type? select photo paper
See the paper size? Select 4x6
Quality (Best)
[OK]
[PRINT]
I tried that, and thanks for the suggestion.. but the printer just doesn't grab onto the paper.
