Hello,

You will need to configure the telnet emulator from your pc first and download it to the terminal after.

Check the version of telnet emulator you have. To do this, go to the options menu on the emulator and click on about wavelink.

Register yourself on www.wavelink.com and download the same client version as installed on the terminal. (Don't forget to download the Active sync version.

Tweak all the configuration parameters on the emulator once you have installed it on your pc also enable i2of5 symbology and then download the config only to the terminal.

In addition to thesupperdude's solution.

The MC9090-G comes with a licence of Wavelink TE pre-installed.
I would just download the latest version of Wavelink from the site that supported this version:-

v7.0.82

And then update the gun. This is done very easily using the Wavelink application (Install App button) and following any prompts.

Function keys on MC9090

hi,
Sound like you need to look at your Keyboard mapping files, easiest way to fix this is to use Motorola System Configuration Manager - Downloadable from the Motorola website.
If the unit need to be restored to factory defaults, than a fast way is to run the Clean boot files from the SD Card also downloadable via the Motorola site - search for 'MC9090 Clean boot'

We are running Wavelink or Avalanche software on the MC9090. Unfortunately, the top and bottom of the screen is being used seemingly by the Options and Wavelink toolbars, respectively. This reduces the...

The setting to hide the options menu and start bar can be done within the Emulation Parameters on a host PC.
From the main switch board run "Emulation Parameters" and then expand >>Emulation>>Display

This will give you a wide range of options which are useful to you:-
  • Hide Horizontal Scroll Bar
  • Hide Menu
  • Hide Vertical Scroll Bar
  • Start Menu
I would then set a key within:-

Menu Toggle Key

So that you could bring it up at any time when required. Most people use <CTRL><M> which is in fact <C><0x4D> (from memory).

Hope this helps.

Mc9090-g

It's not like your old DOS scan guns where there was a definite number of characters (rows and columns) that could fit on the screen. Instead, it runs Windows Mobile or Windows CE, which has a graphical interface (like your PC). It comes preloaded with terminal software from Wavelink to connect to your AS400, and you can set how large or small you want the font to be in that terminal emulator. So the answer is, the "lines per screen" and "characters per line" can pretty much be as many or as few as you want. It's a trade-off between how much you can fit on the screen and how well you can read it if you were to choose a font size that is too small.

I will say that Wavelink does a good job with this emulator at allowing you to scroll around the screen though. If there is anything that won't fit on the screen, you can just press the Ctrl key and then use the up/down/left/right arrows to page around the screen.
