I bought this television about 2 months ago for my mother. We have been very happy until today. We don't have any sound. The picture plays just as good as it did when i bought it but no sound. I can't find any help online and we don't have a manual. What can I do to fix this without calling an expensive tv repairman or going back to Walmart to act a fool? Please help...
With remote control click TV Menu, scroll down to "Sound" click right toggle arrow, scroll down again to "Speaker" and make sure it is set to "Internal" if useing TV speakers or "External" if routing sound output to a stereo or surround system.

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague Please post back what you find.
Yes the GE universal remote #24914 works to change your Ilo tv from analog to digital and switch to vid1 or vid2 ect.... The code is in the book that comes with the remote. I use this remote myself. This remote can be bought at Target for under $10.It works all the features.
There is a capacitor that is out. It is a 470uf 25v. When you open the back and look at the power board there are three group together. It should be right there. You will be able to tell if the capactor top is bubbled replace it. It should be completely flat.
