I've charged the battery, and have a brand new memory card in it. But it won't turn on. I can tell that the lense won't move.. it like, isn't shut, and i could feel the whole system trying to push out the camera. My brother (who dropped it and broke it) said the ZOOM was broken, but I think he just broke the thing that opened/ moves out.. any way to fix this without sending it into the shop? and if i have to send it in, what's broken? PLEASE AND THANK YOU!
Look for a tiny pinhole and insert a pin while powered up to reset the device

if this does not work, if you get to the point to open it see any electric motor, then apply a battery powered set of jumper wires to the motor to manually run the zoom back and forth. start with one battery (1.5 volts) only!
the dropped camera may be beyond repair...at reasonable cost..if you cannot find the pinhole to reset...almost sounds like the micro is confused, but possible mech damage...may be toast

Are you sure that will work?
When I turn it in ON mode, the camera shuttle trys to move, but wont.
And the camera peices that close the lense up are open when the camera is off.
And when I turn it ON, it says 'Access', then beeps at me and says 'Turn power on and off'
Do you know how to get it in RESET mode? and where exactly the pin hole is?
my camera all of a sudden one day shut off...i tried to charge the battery...got nothing...bought a new one and chrged it and tried it and got nothing...i didnt drop it or anything...its about 3.5 yrs old. then i put a pen tip in the reset button and i dunno what i did but it turned on and asked to reset time/date/etc...but then i accidently popped the battery part open, and now its off again...what is goin on, what should i do?
camer comes on then says turn power off and on again and beeps 5 times the lens wont retract
