the lock solenoid might be bad

check locking mechanism on the door when open. You s/b able to open with key.

The automatic door unlock function is a vehicle personalization feature with the following 3?programmable modes of operation:
1. All: All of the doors will automatically unlock. 2. Driver: The driver's door will automatically unlock. 3. None: The doors will need to be unlocked by a door switch command or by pressing the the lock button on the RKE transmitter. The All or Driver modes may also be programmed as to when the automatic door unlocking will occur.
1. Key Off: The door(s) will unlock when the key is turned off. 2. Shift to Park: The door(s) will unlock when the vehicle is shifted into P (Park). Yes, the security system shuts power to the starter and fuel pump. You can try disarming by unlocking and locking the doors the power door locks switch (depends on model). Place the key in the ignition and set to ON, ALL doors closed!! Cycle the locks using the power locks button on the driver's door "lock" then "unlock" if this doesnt work, try same method with the ignition OFF. Otherwise your security system is malf.

I consulted a Nissan master technician on this one, the Altima does not have auto locks, other owners have posted your same question as well and the experts answer is the Altima not equipped with this feature.
