Where do i get a power cord?

I recently got this monitor and have no power cord for it. Ive called many places, including viewsonic, trying to find the 12V 6.5A power cord but I cant find one anywhere. Can someone please tell me where to get one? or at least a universal one? Thanks

First, try the internet...http://www.pricegrabber.com/ and search for your model and then for optional accessories. if no-go, then... remove your car battery, then devise a makeshift 2-wire cable to deliver 12 volts to the proper pins on the back of your monitor. look for polarity markings 12v at 6.5 amps (70 watts) may be hard to find as a "universal" supply. many older pc case supplies (pre-ATX they are free at recycling centers) have the 12V available...just ensure the yellow and black (ground) wires only are used...may also need to ensure that "power ok" signal is set to activate said supply

VA1703wb Viewsonic Monitor backlight

The problem can be bad power supply feeding the backlight inverter circuits due to bad caps, or in the inverter circuits, or worst case will be bad lamps, you need to open it up and tell us what you see inside first, good pictures will help, see example of failed VIEWSONIC due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

My viewsonic monitor works fine for some time but the n suddenly stops displaying even though the power cord is fine ...after some time it comes alive or some times by fidgeting with the power cord.....

It sounds like a loose connection. The easy thing to try is to replace the power cord to make sure that's not the problem. If that doesn't fix it, it's probably a broken or loose wire inside the monitor that you would need to trace down with a multimeter.

How to hook up flat screen monitor??

That's all you need. Just a standard power cord plus the VGA connector cable. Plug the new monitor into the same spot as the old one.

DVI input on monitor not working

Contacted viewsonic about this issue- they suggested- have both dvi and vga hooked up to same machine. start with poweroff on both. power on monitor, then power on computer. when you see display coming from the vga, power off pc, then disconnect vga cable, turn off power to monitor, disconnect power cord from monitor for 5 + seconds, reconnect power cord, power on monitor, then power on pc.
If this doesn't work to get the dvi working, (as happened to us) we returned our monitor for a replacement, since it was still under warranty.
