Question about Averatec 5110HX Notebook

Averatec 5100 will not power on

Hi everyone, I have a averatec 5100 and it will not power on. The cord went bad so I replaced it with a generic one and it worked for a while. Now the laptop is not working at all. Will not make a sound and no lights whatsoever come on. I bought another new cord and that didnt fix the problem. I have tried it with and without the battery, but I think the battery is not working at all anyways.

Does my Acer Aspire 5100 laptop have a fuse?

No. Power would be prevented by a bad outlet, power strip not on, faulty or mis-connected power cord, bad connection between the tip and inlet of the power cord, a bad power inlet, or a faulty motherboard. Independently testing each of these until you narrow it down is really the best/only way to figure out the problem.

I need to hold manipulate power cord just right in

You can buy a replacement motherboard on ebay for $150, but then you will have to pay someone to replace it. That could cost as much as the motherboard itself, so it is up to you how much you are looking to spend on this system.

Good Luck

Is a serial number on Averatec 5500 power cord

GO TO GOOGLE

TYPE IN : "Power Cord for Averatec 5500 replacement" ; you'll get many options to buy a new one if that is what your question was about, YOu do not need the serial number; buying from the Company is much more expensive; buy from a Webstore that specializes in power supplies., batterys etc.

Can not take a part my averatec 6200

There is no such manual as this is a dangerous self fix. Look for a generic OEM replacement on Ebay.

Dell Dimension 5100 Won't start up

Hi

First disconnecting the power cord and re-seat all connections (Keyboard, Mouse espercially). Connect up the power cord and try powering the PC.

To help you troubleshoot a problem, Dell Dimension 5100 has four diagnostic lights labeled "1," "2," "3," and "4" on the front panel. When the computer starts normally, the lights flash. After the computer starts, all four lights display solid green. If the computer malfunctions, the color and sequence of the lights identify the problem.

If the computer failed to start up check the diagnostic lights color and sequence and Check the link below for more info (Assuming you have another system that can access internet)
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim5100/en/sm/tshoot1.htm#wp1120147

Alternatively, contact Dell Support with the diagnostic lights color and sequence to raise a service call if the system if under warranty.
