Some calculators are solar powered and turn off automatically after they are not used for a certain period of time.

Two choices: Press the MODE key a number of times until you get to the "Fix Sci Norm" screen, press 3 to select "Norm" and then press 1 or 2 to select one of the norm modes.

To get the inverse trigonometric functions press the 2nd key then the trig function key. If you'll look at the key legends above the SIN, COS, and TAN keys you'll see the standard math notations for their inverse function.

Press SHIFT MODE 7 and it will prompt for the number of digits.
