  1. Check for hose kinks or food plugging drain hose. Start at the drain port exit (there are others, this is just an example)
  2. Check the check valve and drain hose for debris.
  3. Check pump motor for reversing during the pump out make sure the dishwasher is pausing between the wash and drain cycles letting the pump/motor reverse for the drain cycle.
  4. Check timer for not letting the dishwasher pause. ( not all dishwashers )
  5. Check pump motor assembly for a drain solenoid, during the pump out make sure the solenoid makes that distinctive "clunk" noise
  6. If you have recently installed a new garbage disposal, check knock-out plugat connection.
  7. Check pump impeller for damage.
  8. Check that the water inlet valve isn't seeping fresh water into the dishwasher when off.
    ok.

The water will not drain from the dish washer and there does not seem to be anything blocking the drain. I ran it through another cycle and now it is leaking water slowly. Is there anyway to drain this...

I would suggest removing and cleaning the filter sometimes debree and build up of small particals can stop it from draining. Clean the filter in hot soapy water and then replace it in the dishwasher and run the dishwasher through a cycle, this worked for me.

Water keeps backing up on to my counter top from a drain on the sink. WHY?

If you have a built in disposal in your sink, the perforations in the disposal screen are too small to let the water exiting from the dish washer's pump to go down the drain fast enough, or the perforations are clogged sometimes. The answer is to put a sink stopper in the drain of the sink, which will block the back flow.

Water not draining completely from Dishwasher tub

That usually happens because of a faulty water level sensor, check it out.

Our dishwasher was gushing water after a cycle

If you dish washer pumped or drained water up into you sink then you drain line from the sink or even further down is clugged up, Machine out drain line. A drip sized cable machine can be rented. I recomend a 1/4 inch line. You will only have to go frim the sink to the main line.

Dish washer??

Has a disposer been installed recently? If so the drain plug may not have been removed...... Some DW have a check valve attached to the sump that may have a blockage..... Remove the drain hose from the disposer, if connected to one and inspect for blockage.

GE Nautilus

Check the level of your drain hose underneath the sink between the dish washer cabinet and sink cabinet connect to the dispose position, sometimes if the middle part lower than the dispose will cause the back up problem, should be a little higher.
