  • Anonymous Feb 16, 2008

Hello, did you ever figure out how to clean your Frigidaire self cleaning oven? I have the same problem; cannot find my instruction manual. The stove is about 8 years old, has a smooth black cooking surface. The only numbers I can find on it are inside the oven door, 316065306. That does not come up as a model number on the Frigidaire website. Can anyone out there help??

    Thanks,

I tried pressing clean then the up arrow. Nothing. THEN I HELD DOWN THE UP ARROW FOR A FEW SECONDS AND 3 HOURS CAME UP AND it worked and my oven is now cleaning itself. Remember...HOLD DOWN the up arrow for a few seconds and it will work

Thanks alot... I was alittle nervous, thought I would ruin something. With your instructions it worked well.. PRESSED CLEAN AND THEN PRESSED START BUTTON AND THEN THE CLEAN LIGHT SHOWED UP IN BRIGHT RED. Easy as 1 - 2 - 3. Thanks again.

Not sure which model you have...there are 2 that fall under the FEF352 line.

Here is a link to both sets of manuals

Hope that helps

To find the model number look inside the lower drawer. It will be listed on the right hand side when you look in the drawer

Frigidaire models
RE34BA REG36A REG36CA RSE37BA instructions for self cleaning oven. Taken from owners manual:

Setting the controls:

1. Close the oven door

2. Make sure the clock shows the correct time of day.

3. Be sure the Start Time knob is set for the same time as
the clock. If not, turn the knob to the
time on the cock. The knob will thin
poop out.

4. Set the Stop Time
for 2 to 3 hours past the Start Time.
EXAMPLE: If the Start Time and
Clock read 1:00, set the Stop Time for 3:00 or 4:00.

5. Set the
Temperature Control to CLEAN.

6. Set the Selector to CLEAN. The door will lock and the oven signal light
will come on. The oven signal light will
stay on until the oven reaches its cleaning temperature. The clean light will come on when the oven
temperature reaches approximately 550 degrees.
The oven signal light will then cycle on and off to show the temperature
is being maintained. It will then go off
at the end of the cycle indicating that the high temperature phase is
completed.. The oven must now COOL FOR ABOUT 1 HOUR or until the interior
temperature has dropped below 550 degrees.
Only then can the door be unlocked.
The clean light will remain on until the oven cools below 550 degrees.

How to turn on the self cleaning feature

Don't do it. We see problems all the time from the self cleaning feature being used. Normally, door locks that won't release and burned out elements. All it does is super heats the cavity to about 650'F. This burns any grease on the coating to ash.Use Easy Off, it is a lot cheaper.

Need manual for self cleaning, please?

Hello Mary;

You can get a user manual at the following website.

Locate your oven model number. It is located on a label either on the face of the oven when you open the door or on the side of the door. Put he model number into the website and you will get diagrams, component part numbers and manuals.

http://www.searspastsdirect.com/

I suspect the user manual is not going to help you. Tell me the model number and what is going on.

Manufacturers offer the self cleaning feature on ovens because customers like this feature and the ovens sell. Yet, the manufacturers engineers have not been able to provide a design that will protect all of the components from self cleaning temperature of 900-1,000 degree F.

When you go into the self cleaning model, the door will lock when you reach 500-550 Degree F. The oven temperature will raise to 900-1,000 degrees F. The oven door will not open until the oven temperature drops to 500 degree F after the self cleaning cycle is completed.

Now, You have a high temperature limit switch in your oven. If this switch fails, you will loose power to your control board and you will not be able to open the oven door.

If you have never used your self cleaning feature, the high temperature limit switch may have failed.

Do to the problems involved with the self cleaning feature, knocking out the control board from heat, additional heating element failure, and other components; It is in my professional recommendation as well as my fellow technicians not to use the self cleaning feature. If you do, do not run it for more than 1 hour instead for the manual 4 hours.

RBS305 replaced thermal cutoff twice and again it won't come on bake or broil

Good Evening!
The self clean feature is causing your thermal fuses to fail or open. This is a safety mechanism that when open (bad) won't allow electricity to pass through any longer. The temperature in your oven exceeds what the components in your appliance can handle. If you want your oven to last it's longest, I would discontinue using that feature. If ever the control board or keypad on your oven by way of the self clean feature, we can help you with that. Fixyourboard.com can help. Send all inquiries to [email protected] . Thank you!

Hi,
The self destruct or self clean feature has burnt the wiring inside your range... do not use that feature it causes the range to get too hot...

I have a Kenmore Gas Oven, model # 911.30465864 and have lost the manual. I want to clean the oven, (it has self cleaning feature), but I am not sure if I can use oven cleaners in Gas Oven or not. Can...

Just use some easy off and do not use the self clean feature. Clean it the old fashioned way. Self clean ruins expensive electronics.

It is best to clean a self cleaning oven with anything except the self cleaning feature.
The self cleaning feature will eventually destroy other parts causing repair.

My oven flased an F9 error....

The solution to this issue is to finish running the self cleaning feature to this oven, Shutting off the oven or opening the door before the self cleaning feature has completely run will send a F9 error from the safety co0ntrol unit feature built in to the system bios of the control circuit, You will need to close the oven and set the option self cleaning to run now. if your error message prevents you from taking these steps you will need to unplug the oven from the wall socket and let it sit for an hour to reset the screen and then run the self cleaning feature all the way trough, it will shut down on its own when the self cleaning cycle has completed
