Pavillion 7995 won.t start

I RECIEVED A HP PAVILION 7995 from a friend and reformated it with xp pro. I had problems with missing files on the reinstall of windows but managed to get it done with everything working fine. I checked on the web and aparently these machines run on pc133 ram....it had a 256 stick in the first dimm socket....I tried an additional 128mg pc133 in each of the existing dimm sockets and nothing....won't start.....removed the additional ram ....won,t start.....please help as my son is all over me to get it going for him...thanks...

I tried a different stick of ram.....256...pc133....sync....133mhz....tried in all dimm sockets....nothing ...amber light comes on for a couple of seconds and then nothing......no green light ....checked the wires...even removed the power supply.....no change...thanks for the help

Ok first, Remove all additional Sticks of ram that have been installed now, The original 256 Stick set that aside so you know which one it is. Also, take a look at it, does it say Pc100 or PC133 anywhere on it? Now put the original 256 stick and put it back in and try and start your computer. Let me if it starts or not please, Im very interested in this problem.

Did you discharge yourself of static electricity before touching the memory? Apparently static electricity can destroy memory. Also make sure the memory is correctly seated in the slot. Also check to see that everything inside the computer is properly connected. I have gone inside computers and have accidentally nudged something loose and as a result the unit would not work. Try a completely different memory stick than the ones you have now. These things are what I would investigate first.

Memory stick pro wont read in my hp pavillion dv 6000

It could be possible that you are missing the card reader driver. HP Support has the driver for download: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp34501-35000/sp34638.exe

On the start of formatting there was no error but when it copies files on the the cd 57% then mpr.dll was missing then the program will ask if to retry or exit the installation? how can i solve the mpr.dll...

For installation to be completed, files must be complete. the error you recieved is because the file meant for installation is either missing or corrupt. the best is go to a repair or sale shop where computer accessories or components are sold not just any road side shop, request for XP installation disc. OR contact HP for disc.

My hp pavilion 513n has completely stopped working! I need help!

Start the computer, and keep pressing F8 until you get a "boot" menu -- white text on a black screen.
Select "safe mode with command-line", and see if Windows will start.
If it does, enter 'CHKDSK C: /F' to get Windows to check the integrity of the file-system.

Then, find a friend with a genuine Microsoft Windows XP CD-ROM. Boot from that disk, and choose "repair", and see if the boot-process can "repair" your installed copy.

HP Pavilion laptop freezes daily and i force manual shutdown

It sound's like there could be a compatibility problem, maybe corrupt file's, or missing start up file's, have you tried doing a window's update, or doing a disc check on the hard drive, go to my computer right click the drive then go to propertie's, click on tool's then click check now for drive error's. if that do'es not work you may need to reformat back to the original xp os.
