SOURCE: what does upgrader mean

If that did not work then you may have broken the hard drive,

Try replacing it with a CF card,

Everybody says that this does not work but it definitely does!

My Rio got dropped and I completely buggered the hard drive so after reading many forums saying that it didn't work I read one that said that someone had told them that sandisk ultra II ones worked (very vague!)

Because I had nothing to lose I went out and bought a 1GB sandisk Ultra II CF card. I then took apart my rio and replaced the hard drive with the CF card. Still not thinking it was going to work I plugged it into my computer and installed the latest firmware (from the rio website) and then HEY PRESTO!!!!!! it works.

I have yet to try an 8GB ultra II card but when I do i will keep you posted.

If you don't believe me then I don't blame you but If you send me a request then I can send you pictures and more details...

Rio will live on

Hope this helps

SOURCE: When switch on comes up with upgrade RSC files

I would go ahead and do the firmware upgrade from Samsung's website - make sure you enter in your EXACT model # - including the part after the YP-T10. The RSC (resource) files need updating, and I can't think of a better way to do that than to upgrade the firmware. There is a small possibility that you have files on there with expired DRM licenses, but I would try firmware upgrade first.

SOURCE: I need to upgrade this mp3 player.

Hi
to download the firmware you will have to go to this website and find the MPK8854UK
it looks like there no firmware update for the US version so try the UK version
download the zip file, plug your mp3, run the firmware updater, and this should works just fine.
Good luck

My mp3 will not come on at all?

okay to fix this problem you need to do this steps..

1.) Try to press and hold the PLAY button while connecting it to your computer.
(This will allow the device to connect to the computer in safemode.)

2.) Once connecting to the computer is successful, download the upgrade firmware to the device, and follow the upgrade steps.
Upgrade firmware can be found at the link provided below:

I have a Muvo2 and need help

no need for the recovery tool yet, try a firmware upgrade or reflash (upgrading using the lates same version), because the firmware tool will format the hard drive and will give you a fresh unit. never interupt the firmware upgrade process.

System fail

I had the same problem with a YP-U3 and was able to fix it by installing upgrades from the Samsung website. First I downloaded an firmware upgrade from ver. 1.11 to ver. 1.13. The upgrade consists of two winzip files that need to be copied to the system folder on the YP-U3. After the two files were copied, the firmware upgraded itself when the MP3 player was turned on, but I still got a "system fail" message. Then I downloaded the latest version of Samsung Media Studio 5.2 from Samsung.com. The Media Studio menu has a function for reformatting the MP3 player, which clears all data files but leaves the operating system intact. After that was done, the MP3 player worked properly.

Stuck in upgrader mode. Try resetting by inserting a small #1 paperclip in the player. Otherwise, go to the Rio website at realnetworks and download the firmware upgrade.
