My camera, a sony dsc w50, is almost brand new but it has stopped taking pictures. whenever i turn it on, a black screen appears with the word access and then it beeps with the message turn your camera off and on again. ive tried doing that but to no avail. i have also tried pulling out the lens but it is too far in and i cant pull it out. any suggestions?

Well dont use force like pulling lens out.
Take memry card out make sure it is in correctly and contact clean and the compartment door is shut.
If to no avail Get onto Sony Technical Support via the web.
I guess this is a a circuit board fault and need replacing.

hi ,i cant help at this moment.but! banging it is as bad as dropping it, who told you that, light tap may help! looks to me like your lens is jamed and can not turn and focous this is a very pricece job bin or sell as spares. the picture blur could be a fault in the very fine leeds that run the camera.....
thats normal. it just doesn't have enough power to bring the lense back in. once you charge your battery and turn it on the lense will automatically come back in and then out for you to take a picture.
