Re: selecting source for 3000f
Hi, a possible explanation why the CanoScan 3000F does not show in the Source Box selection is because Windows does not recognize it as being connected. To check, you have to go to Device Manager, Imaging Devices, expand it and see if the CanoScan 3000F is installed. If it is not there, then you would have to reinstall the drivers. Another possibility is a faulty USB cable or the USB port connector itself. Try a different cable or a different USB port.
Another way of looking at it is that you were able to install the scanning software but not the actual driver(s) of the scanner.
Hope this be of help to you. Good luck and pls post again how things turn up.

There is an option in the dialog box where you select the paper source either ADF (chute) or flatbed. The options differs depending whether you are using twain interface for scanning or isis.
You need to select the proper source. If the paper source is correct then, probably, the paper sensor in the chute unit is not operating properly.
canning functionality from the LJ3380 and
CLJ2840 series All-in-One devices may not function until the correct
Twain Data Source is selected by the user.
This can be done by attempting to scan from the foundation scan executable "hppscan2.exe
For the LJ3380 series this is located in C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\LJ3015_LJ3020_LJ3030_LJ3380->hppscan2.exe
For the CLJ2840 this is found in C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin->hppscan2.exe
When the "hppscan2.exe
" is launched from this location where it resides, a dialog box will open with a "Select Source
" box listing the installed Twain scanning devices available. If this
box is not seen, then there is only one Twain device installed.
In some instances user input is needed
to chose the "correct" Twain data source for scanning to be successful
from the LJ3380 and CLJ2840 series devices.
If the incorrect Twain data source is selected- an error "Cannot initialize device
" will be seen.
The Twain source is the Picture or Photo program First I do not think your Scanner will run on XP because i have one and i have tried the original drivers Second I got my scanner running on an old computer with Win 2000 and had to use two sets of drivers FB330P/FB630P & FB630U/Fb636V then I open MS Photo editor and Click on FILE then go down to select source and click on the second entry of the scanner the go FILE Scan Image If you not not have MS Photo editor it may work with other programs
if u have driver disk or source thene go to my computer then devicemanger then right clik any icon there then u see scan for hardware changes.
then folowthe proceduree then one step is come for browse then select your source of driver then it install.
