I have an epsom stylus colour 680 - old yes but not over used! I tried printing a very large colourful document, however the pages jammed and the two red lights began flashing. I do know you shouldn't switch the power off when the lights are flashing, but after removing all signs of the jammed paper, the only solution I thought of (as with most electronic goods) was to switch off and reset. (I know, I was wrong!) However many times I've disconnected the power and left it, every time I switch it back on, it the red lights remain on and permanently fixed now, not flashing. What do I do please, is there a reset button?
If they were initially flashing fast there is a fatal error and a repair is needed, but always try a re install first. Go to printers and faxes folder and go to your Epson C88 printer icon, right click on it and select cancel all documents or prints, then select uninstall, to remove the printer. Uninstall driver from add/remove programmes, turn off and remove printer from usb port and restart pc. Install the drivers and software again from the cdrom and when prompted to connect printer, switch it on but connect to a different usb port if possible and allow windows to detect and install. If the lights are still steady red or flashing fast, then the printer is faulty.
