Question about Neff 24 in. S5555X0GB Built-in Dishwasher
I have a two year old Neff S5555 which has stopped working. Although it successfully empties out all the the waste water it does not seem to want to finish it's wash cycle - getting stuck in a constant drain (with the pump running and impeller spinning to remove water that is not there). I have switched the machine on and off, reset the programme to no avail.
If this machine uses an electrical-mechanical timer with cam switches, the try oiling the shaft bushings both for the timer motor and cams-the timer may be getting stuck because of dry or corroded bushings

My Neff S5555XOGB/70 dishwasher started getting lairy the other night. I noticed that it was on for a long time, seemed to be stuck on a pump out water function no matter what i did, i could not get it to work...had a butchers on here and seemed to be the flood switch triggered so i took it out, tipped it back and let the bisto drain out....put it all back and hey presto..its alive again...my prob was the salt solution cap housing nut was loose.

Hi
Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due
to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that
the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is
present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and
drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump
completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller &
clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the
complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps...
Please post back for any further assistance.

I found another posting similar to mine which suggested a flood in the bottom of the machine.
I wasn't convinced because my feet were dry but following the advice of tipping the machine backward 45 degrees I managed to create an indoor swimming pool.
So, the anti-flood mechanism had triggered.
The upshot is that my immediate problem of constant draining has been solved but the underlying leak that causes the flood is still lurking.
Same again on a 3 year old S5457, although it does work one time in 10. Bizarre.
water does not empty, tub agitates, Is problem the selector switch or pump or other another item??
