My fridge is frost free my freezer is ok but iam getting water in my fridge can you tell me what tempti should have it at thank you

The problem isn't necessarily the temperature because in most cases that should be ok at 4° C. If you use a conventional refrigerator incorrectly, you may notice a small amount of water leaking out from either the bottom of the appliance or collecting in the salad drawers depending on the model of your appliance. This is caused by blockage in the drainage hole at the back of the appliance above these drawers. The hole leads to the evaporation tray above the compressor. During the normal operation of the appliance, water runs down a gully into the hole. If food debris accidentally falls down the hole, this can fester and mold can form causing a blockage and possibly an odor. This blockage can also freeze and force any water back out of the hole and into the appliance. To clear the hole, firstly switch off the appliance. Use a cotton bud to clean the top of the hole. You can pour a small amount of water down the hole to assist you. However, many blockages can be much deeper. In this case you will need a flexible net curtain wire to reach down the hole and remove the blockage. Don't use anything that's sharp or isn't flexible when the hole is cleared. You can pour a small amount of mild sterilizing fluids such as Milton down into the hole to prevent further bacterial growth. I hope that helps but if you need further help or more information check here.

Water accumulating inside the fridge

hi kostas.
Condensation runs down the back of the fridge and collects in the gully sitting at the back of the fridge where the water is then channelled through the drain hole into a container which sits on the compressor, it's then evaporated away.

There is water collecting continuously at the bottom of my fridge under the crispers. Do you know how I can fix?

Most frost free refrigerators take water from the freezer so you do not have to defrost the freezer. That being said there should be a drain under the crisper. Check to see if it is clogged.
you may need to put something under the refrigerator to collect the water..

Water accumulating inside fridge bottom make GE Model #gta18pbnaww

That's normal especially if you tend to leave the door open alot. Moisture from the outside air condenses and drips to the bottom. Also, if the refrigerator is automatic self-defrosting it will melt ice collecting around the refrigerator and the resulting water will collect at the bottom. Check under the food drawers for a drain hole. If it is clogged, clean it out. If it doesn't exist, periodically sponge out the bottom under the drawers.

Fridge freezer is 6 years old - water is collecting at the "drain area" (not sure this is what it is?) and not draining so that there is a collection of water which is then overspilling and...

I'm presuming that this is a self defrosting fridge. When it defrosts, the water runs down the back of the fridge inside and collects in a gully, just above the vegetable drawers (If you have them), it runs through a hole in the centre of the gully, down a pipe to a plate which is positioned above the compressor at the back. The compressor gets warm and the water evaporates.
The hole in the gully is probably blocked with debris or mould, as a result, the water overflows onto and into the drawers. MOST fridges have a dip stick like device in the hole, which you can use to jiggle up and down and clear any blockage. If you don't have such a dipstick, a soft wire or bit of plastic tie will do to clear the pipe. Worst case, you may have to pull the fridge away from the wall and check at the back. The compressor, plate and drain hose (about the thickness of a pencil and usually clear plastic) should be clearly visible. Sometimes, the hose gets dislodged so it doesn't drip onto the plate, sometimes the blockage will be at the end of the hose that runs out onto the plate, rather than inside the fridge. You can try blowing into the hose, which should be free and clear to blow through, or pushing a soft flexible wire down the entire length of the pipe to clear any blockages in places you can't see.

We have a slow water leak in our fridge. The water pools under the bottom 2 produce drawers.

On most newer fridges, there is a very shallow 'V' shaped collection channel at the back of the fridge just above the bottom drawers, this is for condensate collection. In the middle of this channel there should be a hole, this quite often gets clogged, and over flows, hence the water at the bottom of the produce drawers, clear the hole and it should cure your leak, worth checking every couple of months.

Water collects at bottom/Ice forms in top

Hi,

The defrost drain is located just under the cooling coils in the back of the freezer. You will need to unload the food and remove the shelves from the freezer. Take the back panel off from inside the freezer and you will see a hole just below the coils. Flush it with hot water using a turkey baster or small hose. See the link below for more details.

Ice collecting under bottom of Freezer drawer/ seal round door intact/ food staying frozen/ Ice is cleared periodically but then builds up again

Your defrost drain hole is clogged. Look for the drain hole in the bottom rear of the freezer section. Turn off the fridge. Heat the drain hole with a hair dryer and clear the ice. Pour a quarter cup of bleach into the hole.

Ice blocks water drainage hole

Freezer /fridge leaking water/ice frozen in fridge and or freezer, or leaks on floor

Usually due to CONDENSATION due to bad door seals or a plugged evaporator drain line? Can use a soft flexable tubing and very hot water to clean it out. Bad door seals usually need replacement, but u can use a blow dryer and something to pry it closer to the door wall while blowing hot air on to it. To create a seal, to test for bad door seals place a dollar bill in between the door and wall of fridge where it closes. Then slide out the dollar bill with door closed. It should offer some resistance and not be easy to pull out.

Fix any gaps in the door seal.Pack out the seal underneath the areas where the door seal has the gaps. This can be done with a small strip of weather stripping, as shown here, or a bit of tightly rolled up paper under the door seal. Alternatively, you can heat the door seal up with a hair dryer to fix the gaps. This softens the door seal and allows you to stretch it.

Most all fridges have a drain. Look inside your fridge for a "V" shaped channel with a small hole. This hole leads to a tube and a small pan which sits on top of your refrigerator's compressor. The defrost cycle causes water to run into the channel, down the tube, and then it generally evaporates with the heat of the hot condenser/compressor.
However, if that tube is clogged with food crumbs, particles , debris etc, you will have to clear it to get back to a normal mode of operation. A toothpick, pipecleaner, straw or a cotton bud can often do the trick. Another trick one can use is to connect a copper tube wire with one end going into the drain hole then attach the other end to the heater wrap it around heater a few times. That will take care of the drain problem when it comes to ice build up but not food build up.
Even a frost free freezer will still ice up at times in the areas away from the heated defrost area and the drain line can freeze. This icing causes the pipe work to the compressor to ice over or sweat and cause a puddle. Or if the drainage has frozen over, it will need to be de-iced. ( usually the line is under the freezer bottom plate covering. Towards the back of the unit) And there is another inside the fridge area also.
Give the freezer a good overnight defrost until it's totally clear of ice in addition to making sure the drain is clear to the pan at the back and then restart the freezer.
God is so good: so this is why I give free advice so please thank him not me.

OTHER THINGS TO CHECK ARE THE DEFROST TERMINATOR AND THE HEATER ELEMENT FOR COBNTINUITY.

1-3 TEMPERATURE CONTROL
As the food in the fridge gets colder, it gives off less heat, and the air inside the fridge will remain colder. A thermostat called aCOLD CONTROLwill cycle the cooling system on and off to keep the temperature inside your fridge within a certain range. You can adjust that range using one of the dials within your fridge.
On most fridges, all the cold air for both the food compartment and the freezer compartment is produced in one evaporator. Since the freezer is so much colder than the food compartment, most of the cold air that is produced circulates to the freezer compartment. Only a small amount is needed in the food compartment to keep it down to the proper temperature. This amount is adjusted by a smallAIR DOORin the duct between the evaporator and the food compartment. The control for this air door is the other of the two dials within your fridge.
Check ur cold control thermostat, ur thermistors in both fridge and freezer ( they should be checked for both ohms and for amount of current being put out as per ur model ), ur air flow vent from freezer to fridge.( to make sure it opens and closes without any restrictions) On thermistors check for A close circuit and amount of ohms not just an Ohm reading. As per ur model. Most should atleast show 1200 ohms. Also Check door seals for leakage.
