In reality this is only a crude way of telling you how much toner is left in the cartridge. The printer really has no way of telling you how much toner is actually left inside. Because it does not know how much toner is required for your particular way of printing. It is kind of like a filling up your car with gas and only using your trip odometer to determine how many miles you can drive before you run out of gas. If you drive in the city, your miles till empty is less than if you drive highway.
This error is caused by the Waste Toner Motor 'stalling' - usually as a result of the Waste Toner Full message being ignored for too long, and the waste system becomming overful.

yes refilling will solve the problem.but you have to change the green colour small chip on the side of the toner to make it work,as the new chip will be detected as new toner in the printer.
CLP-500 and CLP-510 toner cartridges are identical in shape, but the internal microchip and toner sensors are diferent. therefore they are usually mixed up, producing the problem just described. If you check your toners and happen to have the correct ones, then have them replaced by your supplier; or better yet, try another company. Not all remanufacturing companies are able to fully reproduce the algorythms contained in such chips.
