I have bought a brand new Garmin C330 and for some reason i cant get it to work. For some reason the garmin does not seem to give any signals. The Garmin C330 just continues to say Locating Satelite or something but nothing is happening.
Yeah but why should i/we have to put a antenna on a product that was bought for a purpose to TRACK LOCATE AND DIRECT. its not demonstrating non of these capabilities. I am recieving the same messages, with no BARs on the signal tracker.
Location, location, location.... unfortunately, some locations are better than others for reception. If you are located in an area that is not good for satellite reception (buildings, mountains, etc) you will not have good reception. An external antenna is probably your only answer. I have the c330 and, to my surprise, it works inside of my house. I also have XM satellite radio that needs an external antenna to function properly.
Try to change the antena?
what the hell does that Suppose to mean.
Where am I going to get an antenna and better yet why should I change the antenna on a unit the still has warranty.
The idiots at Garmin could not figure it out so how should I???

There are no free downloads for this particular Garmin product. The new 2010 map is available @ www.garmin.com for $59. I have this same GPS and unfortunaly also had to purchase the upgrade for the map.
ONE, RESET IT !!! (See resetting instructions below)
TWO, let the battery die out!
Waking up your c330...
If you left your Garmin c330 on running
the battery will have 1% life left. If you turn c330 back on again, it
will flash screen for 3 seconds then die, even charging it at this
point will not wake it back up. TO BRING IT BACK TO LIFE... plug in the
power home or car into Garmin c330. There is a tab in the front Garmin
gray frame of your screen. You must take like your fingernails and
under the logo "GARMIN" pull the whole gray plastic frame off.
Underneath the plastic frame to the right hand side. There is a "RESET"
button. Make sure power is plugged in while hitting reset. Your battery
should come back to life. Cheers
Garmin maps are married to the device they were bought for. You should not be able to take an SD card from one and have it work in another. Another point is, was the 710 already registered to someone else and never deregistered? Have your registered the 710 and does it show up on your Garmin account?
If the 710 is not on your account, Run Garmin Express (download from Garmin). Connect the 710 to your PC. Any maps that the 710 is entitled to will show up in Garmin Express. You may have to buy the map on Garmin if the 710 never had it before.
From your Where to?/View map screen press on the box wrench to access the settings menu. Once at the settings menu press Map, then press Map Info and you should see that you have City Navigator North America NT v8 or whichever one is loaded.
